Sicklerville, NJ (October 6, 2014) – Brett Ballard and Brad Roberts, two members of B&M Motorsports, drummed up strong finishes at the Rock and Roll 33 on Friday, October 3 on Bridgeport Speedway’s quarter mile.
Ballard’s night of racing started off in exciting fashion. In the second heat race, he nipped Scott Hulmes at the finish line to take third place and qualify for the redraw. After he chose the fourth starting position for the 33-lap main event, Ballard moved up to third place with five laps completed. Although he slipped back to eighth place with eleven laps completed, he battled his way back to the front in the final twenty circuits to finish in a very respectable fourth place. Ballard’s current marketing partners include John Latwinas Farmers Insurance Agency of Sicklerville, NJ, Larkin Auto Service, CB Productions, CTS Lawn Care, and Delran Auto Body. As he is beginning to make plans for the 2015 season, the Rock and Roll 33 may have been Ballard’s last race this year.
In the opening heat race at the Rock and Roll 33, Roberts gained a top six redraw starting spot by finishing third. After picking the second starting position, he grabbed the lead from Don Cogdill on the second lap. Roberts would pace the field until the fifteenth tour when Lou Cicconi powered past him. After dropping to third place on the twenty-first circuit, close racing with his grandfather, Ron Roberts, resulted in a spin by Brad Roberts on the twenty-third circuit. Coming from the back, the younger Roberts would gain a few more spots in the remaining laps to complete the race in sixth. The Newport, Delaware resident returned to Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday, October 4 to compete in the Crate/Sportsman feature. As the handling of Bicknell car was not up to par, Roberts retired from the 20-lap feature on the fifth circuit and was credited with a seventeenth place finish. His next race will be the Thunder on the Hill event at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, October 18 in the Sportsman division. Array of Monograms, Ronnie’s Auto Repair, Roberts Motors, and Nucar Wholesale Parts are his current marketing partners.
