Sicklerville, NJ (July 7, 2014) – For the first time since the 2011 season, Modified Stock Cars will be racing on the quarter mile track at Bridgeport Speedway as Modified Mayhem is slated for Friday, August 22. In conjunction with Bridgeport Speedway, Wiz Motorsports Communications will be presenting the event on Bridgeport Speedway’s inner oval. “When Bridgeport Speedway experimented with the idea of Modified Cars on the quarter mile track in 2011, I would have never predicted the positive outcry from the majority of the drivers that tried it. I am glad to be working with Bridgeport Speedway management in presenting a show with the Modifieds competing on the quarter mile track,” stated Mike Wisniewski, owner of Wiz Motorsports Communications and former Public Relations manager for Bridgeport Speedway.
One driver who has been clamoring for another contest on the quarter mile is Corey Andersen, the winner of the first official Modified race on the inner oval. Andersen won the September 9, 2011 event using a Crate Sportsman car and is looking forward to the challenge of racing on the tight confines of the quarter mile oval. “It is different than racing the 5/8th mile track and it takes some time to get used to it. Throttle control is very important,” said Andersen, who is planning to be on hand with the H&A Motorsports 9A Big Block Modified.
Ryan Simmons, a regular at New Egypt Speedway, has added the Modified Mayhem event to his schedule. Simmons ran some of the races in 2011 and is excited for the August 22 event. “Crate Sportsman cars can run with the Big Block Modifieds on the quarter mile track but strategy plays a big factor. I had so much fun when we ran the quarter mile track in 2011. I really believe that anyone who tries it will not be disappointed and will definitely want to come back again,” commented Simmons.
After qualifying events, a 25-lap feature will take place with sixteen cars taking the green flag. The top three finishers will be awarded trophies courtesy of Black Flagged Racing. “I am looking for various types of marketing partnerships for this event to increase the purse and possibly some giveaways for the Friday night program at Bridgeport Speedway,” said Wisniewski. An assortment of marketing partnerships is available for this event and interested parties should contact Mike Wisniewski from Wiz Motorsports Communications at mikewiz1962@yahoo.com for further details.
