Dan Green #46 High Hopes Dashed In Short Night!
Bechtelsville, PA – After a string of second place finishes, at Grandview Speedway, the G & H Motorsports #46 of Dan Green was one of the cars to watch for the Firecracker 40.
Before warm-ups all the cars in the pits start their motors to get heat in them so they run at the correct temperature. As the team went to start the car we found that the starter went bad and wouldn't turn over. The team quickly replaced the starter and did some minor adjustments to make sure the PinnacleFOTO.com #46 was ready for the night.
Lined up in 6th spot in the first heat race for the Late Models, Dan took what the track gave him and stayed on the bottom of the track and had a good race with Sean Merkel #118, Kory Fleming #704 and Randy Stoudt #10 to finish in 5th.
Todd Lapp, Jesse Bivins, Scott Green, Bob Higginbotham, Greg Hoffmaster, Debbie Dutter, Cathy Green and Brett Higginbotham of the G & H Motorsports team went to work to get the Hot Rod Processing #46 ready for the Firecracker 40 Late Model Feature.
After the great Fireworks display from Grandview Speedway the Late Models lined up on the front stretch with the Scott Select #46 in 8th starting spot. The Late Models had a few parade laps holding American Flags during this time and after handing the flags to the officials at the start finish line the 22 starters got ready for the green flag. The American Flags were then given to youngsters in attendance and if the youngster had the flag with the winning drivers signature then they got their picture taken in victory lane and received a Firecracker 40 t-shirt. With Dan starting on the outside and it being the longest race of the season he took the green and stayed in line and held his position for the first lap. Going down the backstretch, the second place starter, #ZT1 of John Giesler tagged the outside wall and with no where to go the #704 Kory Fleming hit the back end of Giesler and got sideways and with no time to react but to turn left Dan hit Fleming with the right front damaging the suspension. The Ken's Towing #46 had to get towed in after completing 2 laps ending the night for the G & H Motorsports team. After the string of second place finishes Dan finished the night in 22nd and dropped to 7th in points. Randy Stoudt #10 went on to collect his 59th career victory in late models to top the win list, so we congratulate him on that accomplishment.
