RATCHFORD AND REINHARDT SPLIT 270CC TWIN 15’S

On Friday night at the Bridgeport Speedway, four different drivers took home their first checkererd flag on the inner quarter mile speedway.  Shawn Ratchford and Lee Reinhardt each won one of the 15-lap 270cc Micro Sprints features.  Steven Bracall won the 20-lap 600cc Micro Sprint feature and Art Knapp broke the strangle hold by the Dunn’s to win the Four Cylinder Enduro feature event.

In the opening 15-lap feature for the 270cc Micro Sprints, John Blanda quickly jumped to the lead from his pole starting position.  Joe Dopke, who started outside the front row, fell to third behind Shawn Ratchford by the completion of the first lap.  Ratchford took command of the event on lap three and never looked back.  Blanda and Dopke battled for second.  Blanda’s strong run ended on lap nine when he pulled to the pits.  At the checkered it was Ratchford followed by Dopke, Tyler Reinhardt, Sam Lamothe and Lee Reinhardt.

The top six finishers from the first feature were inverted putting Glen Frye, Jr. and Lee Reinhardt on the front row.  Lee Reinhardt grabbed the point at the start of the feature and led the entire distance to claim his first win.  Frye held onto second with Lamothe, Dopke and T.J. Greve completing the top five in the second 15-lap feature for the 270cc Micro Sprints.

Steve Bracall led the entire distance to claim his first win of the season.  Starting from his outside front row position he avoided an opening lap tangle and then held off the season’s biggest winner, Andrew Locuson to claim the win.  Current point leader, Luke Thomas was third followed by Bill Thomas, fourth and Barry Pollard fifth.

Art Knapp led all 20 laps in the Four Cylinder Enduro event to claim his first win of the season.  Knapp was also fast timer in the Timed Dash for the Four Cylinders.  John Gray was second follwed by Carley Rocap, John Webster and Cheri LaClaire.
