Thunder on the Hill‏

THUNDER EVENT #112
PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS PRESENTS. . . .  .
410 SPRINTS & ROC MODIFIEDS RETURN TO THE HILL ON TUESDAY, JULY 1 AS NAPA AUTO PARTS THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES CONTINUES

The 25th Anniversary of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series continues with a celebration of speed and excitement, with fast-paced action and unique fan experiences on Tuesday, July 1st at the Grandview Speedway.   Pioneer Pole Buildings present two of dirt track racing’s most popular divisions, the fast and fearless 410 Sprint Cars, taking part in the Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week Series  and the always raucous Race of Champions Big Block Modifieds, as they  share the spotlight in one of the most anticipated events of the season.  The winner of each feature event will earn a hefty $5,000 pay check!

Pioneer Pole Buildings will be the sponsor for the night joined by MACH 1 Chassis, Window World of the Lehigh Valley and GALCO Business Communications.   Pioneer Pole Buildings is the premier builder of post frame buildings in PA, NJ, DE, MD, WV, VA, and NY. Pioneer was founded in 1998, and has since built their business and quality reputation on providing customers with top quality buildings at very competitive prices. PPB  place a high priority on creating a superior building experience for our customers, BEFORE... DURING... and AFTER construction.

Thunder fans anxious for pre-race action can sign up for free tours of the pit area, where selected drivers will be available to sign autographs, answer questions, and boast about their plans to conquer the famed 1/3-mile clay oval.  Tours leave the grandstand area every 15 minutes with sign-ups available just inside the main entrance.

For fans looking for something a bit more exhilarating, there’s not a lot in life that can compare to watching a 410 Sprint Car blast past from just a few feet away.  The Thunder on the Hill ‘Inside Out Experience’ gets fans inside the action – literally.  Fans can sign-up free of charge to watch pre-race warm ups from inside turn four of the Grandview Speedway.

These unique opportunities lead to the co-main events: the 410 Sprint Cars and Race of Champions Big Block Modifieds will present a double header of exciting racing action.  Time trials and qualifying races will set the lineup for the 35-lap 410 Sprint Car feature, while the Modifieds will draw for their qualifying race positions and compete in a 60-lap feature event.

Fireworks will fill the skies right before the green flag flies at all Thunder on the Hill events as blasts of colorful lights along with the fans in attendance send well wishes to the evening’s competitors during the parade lap.

All this coupled with games, prizes, contests, give-a-ways (and who can forget ‘Joe the Pizza Dude’ presenting full pies to lucky Thunder fans.) – will round out the evening.  Fans are always encourage to visit the pits after the races for an up close meet and greet with their favorite drivers.

It all takes place  on Tuesday, July 1, at 7:30 PM.  Gates open at 5:00 PM.  Adult general admission is $25, children 6-11 are $10, and kids 5 and under are free.  Advance tickets may be ordered by calling 443 513 4456.  Be sure to leave your name and number of tickets you will need.  You may pick-up and pay for your tickets on race night after 3:30 PM.   Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 4:30 PM, one-half hour prior to general admission tickets going on sale.
