THE GLORY DAYS OF EAST WINDSOR SPEEDWAY TO BE REMEMBED AT MOTORSPORTS 2014
OAKS, PA January 3, 2014 . . .  “Memories of East Windsor Speedway” will be a big part of the huge Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2014 Race Car and Trade Show Fueled by Sunoco & Distributed by Insinger Performance presented at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA, January 10-12, 2014.
The very special “Memories of East Windsor Speedway” is set for 7:15 p.m. Friday, following autograph sessions featuring NASCAR greats Harry Gant and Ricky Craven. East Windsor Speedway track manager Don “Butch” Jones will be participating in this special session that will remember this great Friday night action track. There will be special presentations included in the special session that takes place from 7:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Many of the dirt track heroes at East Windsor will participate in the session including Glen Fitzcharles, Sammy Beavers, Ray Liss, Fred Dmchowski and others still to be announced. The drivers will be sharing some of the great memories of the Hightstown, NJ clay oval.
Once one of the most successful local short tracks the one half mile clay oval has been shuttered since August 23, 2002 when dirt track racing legend Doug Hoffman won the final event.
The place to be on Friday nights for dirt track stock car racing fans was the popular clay oval located in Hightstown, NJ. Many of the top names in the sport at the time were regulars in competition with names like Billy Pauch, Jimmy Horton, Doug Hoffman, Kenny Brightbill and so many others seen in action.
“Memories of East Windsor Speedway” will also be an area in the show that will include race cars that had seen action at the track, memorabilia and many drivers that raced there. The track was in operation from June, 1965 until its closing in 2002.
Don Jones and his son Butch ran the facility and were famous for their “my way or the highway” approach to promotion. They operated with an iron fist and it seemed to work as large fields of race cars would perform in from of strong fan turnouts.
The Motorsports 2014 Race Car and Trade Show will be the 29th edition of the popular show presented by Len Sammons Productions. Covering all the available area in the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center the show will feature more than 200 race vehicles representing many different segments of the sport, more than 600 exhibitor spaces, hardcore manufacturers section, FREE industry seminars and much, much more.
As has been the case since the show was started many major national racers and regional racers will be on hand for autograph sessions. 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Brad Keselowski will appear on Saturday, January 11th, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. signing autographs and talking with fans.
“The mid-winter motorsports happening” continues to be the largest and most successful show of its type on the East Coast and attracts thousands and thousands of attendees. More than 225,000 square feet of show space is dedicated to just about everything imaginable in motorsports.
Very limited show space is available. For information contact Danny Sammons at 609.888.3618. A full color brochure describing the show, booth locations, etc. is available upon request or check in at www.aarn.com for the Motorsports 2014 link.
