Coventry Mall Race Car Show returns in
2014
After a one year
hiatus, a race car show will return to the Coventry Mall. The Coventry Mall Race
Car Show will run from Friday, March 7th through Sunday, March 9th. The Coventry
Mall is located in Pottstown, PA and is just 11 miles south of Grandview
Speedway.
Garage Talk Live
will be the 2014 sponsor of the Coventry Mall Race Car Show. Garage Talk Live is
a Motorsports radio show that is broadcasted every Monday on Blog Talk Radio.
The show is hosted Vince Bonfigli and promoted and run by Tammy Auman. Tammy
also handles the Meet and Greets at Grandview Speedway and runs the tracks Fan
Page.
Event Organizer
Scott Hoffmaster is excited about bringing the mall show back this year. “I
started a new position at my job last year that was very time consuming and did
not have the time that was needed to put together a great show,” said
Hoffmaster. “My goals of hosting this event is to promote local dirt track
racing and to give drivers another opportunity to promote their sponsors.”
There are some new
things in the works as well for the 2014 show. A local RC Club has been asked
to join the show and provide live racing. As plans are finalized and times are
scheduled, this information will be released. The club features several classes
of cars that run on a weekly basis and there is hopes that a Celebrity event can
also be set up to have a few of the local racers try their luck at racing some
RC Cars.
Hoffmaster is now
accepting entries for the 2014 Coventry Mall Race Car Show. Previous years
entries range from Late Models to Modifieds, Sprint Cars, Micro Sprints, 600
Modifieds, ARDC midgets, Enduro and Vintage cars. Plans include having a
Grandview Speedway display in center court. The display will include featured
cars from the track, Grandview Speedway 2014 schedules and NASCAR license
applications.
The Montgomery
County Quarter Midget Racing Club (www.mcqmrc.com) will also be participating in
the show yet again this year. Their display will include several cars as well
as information about the club. They host a variety of events each year,
including a driver’s experience, where families looking to see if their child
would have any interest in racing, can borrow a car and the child is mentored
and has the chance to run some laps.
Entries are still be
accepted for the show, and there is no fee to display your racecar. Please
e-mail Scott at coventrymallrcs@yahoo.com with your name, phone number, type of
car and car number. Cars will be staged and allowed to enter the mall Thursday
night, March 6th when the mall closes at 9 pm and the cars will exit the mall at
6 pm Sunday night.
