MINERSVILLE, PA - January 28th, 2014
Questions have been abound on numerous media outlets in regards to DIRTcar rules and American Racer tire usage at Big Diamond Speedway during the 2014 season. Track management has released the following details for each division to hopefully clarify some of those questions:
Modifieds - Any teams that want to use up their BGP tires can do so on the following events in 2014:
1. Season Opener (3/30/14)
2. Money in the Mountains (4/4/14)
3. Georgie Stevenson Memorial (7/4/14)
4. Prelude to the Coalcracker (8/15/14)
5. Jack Rich Memorial Coalcracker 72 (8/31/14)
Those 5 events will not be DIRTcar sanctioned thus Hoosier tires will not be mandatory.
D.I.R.T. stamped Hoosiers will be the mandatory tire for all other races. D300-400-500.
Only the Modified drivers need to purchase a DIRTcar license. They are $125 and can be purchased through the speedway at the annual car show or up until opening day.
All car owners and crew members can purchase the $90 Big Diamond pit license. Pit fees will be $30 for Big Diamond and DIRTcar members and $40 for non members.
Our 2014 rules will be the same as the 2013 rules. Some changes we will be made as we move forward.
You still have the option to run gas or alcohol. However, VP fuels will be the fuel that needs to be used.
Our engine sealing program will continue the same way. Please call Jim at 570-640-4171.

3. Sportsman Coalcracker 40 (8/29/14)

1. Aluminum wheels are allowed (2425lbs)
2. Sail panels are allowed
3. GM 602 Crate engines are allowed (2350lbs)
4. Steel wheels are allowed (2350lbs)
Sportsman are not DIRTcar sanctioned.
A Big Diamond pit license for Sportsman drivers and crew will be $45. Pit fees will be $30 for members and $40 for non members.

1. Exhaust cannot be larger than 2 1/2" O.D.
A Big Diamond pit license for Roadrunner drivers and crew will be $90. Pit fees will be $30 for members and $40 for non members.
Engine sealing program will still be in place. Call Jim 570-640-4171.
Roadrunners are not DIRTcar sanctioned.
Late Model Rules:
1. Any 11" Hoosier tire (approximately $145) can be used D1200 or harder.
2. Open carb for any rule package.
3. Williams Grove, Susquehanna, and Grandview cars must weigh 2,350 lbs.
4. Steel Block Bandit cars must weigh 2,450 lbs.
American Racer tires can be used for the opener (3/30/14) and Late Model Coalcracker 40 (8/29/14).
No mixing and matching of rules. Pick one of the following rule packages and follow it:
Grandview
Susquehanna
Williams Grove
A Big Diamond pit license for Late Model drivers and crew and will be $45. Pit fees will be $30 for members and $40 for non members.
Late Models are not DIRTcar sanctioned.

Don't forget to order your Big Diamond Speedway banquet tickets now before it's too late. The banquet is Saturday, February 8th at the Pottsville Zone in Pottsville, PA beginning at 5 PM. Order forms are available on the website at www.bigdspeedway.com
Also right around the corner is the annual Big Diamond Speedway car show at the Fairlane Village Mall in Pottsville. The show runs Sunday March 2nd thru Saturday, March 8th. Forms will be posted on the website soon, or email Tim Long at pengwin1@ptd.net to have the entry and insurance forms emailed directly to you.
Opening day is set for Sunday, March 30th, featuring the Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic DIRT 358 Modifieds going 30 laps for $3,000 to win and $300 to take the green.. Also on the card will be the U.S.S. Achey Sportsman going 20 laps for $1,000 to win and the Savage 61 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Roadrunners going 20 laps for $300 to win.
The following week will be the 2nd annual Money in the Mountains big block/small block challenge for the Modifieds going 40 laps for $7,500 to win and $500 to take the green. Also on the card will be the seasons first appearance of the Jeremy Slifko Fabrication Services Late Models, along with the Savage 61 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Roadrunners, both going 20 laps in their feature events. Rain date for this event is Sunday, April 6th.
It's shaping up to be a great 2014 season at Big Diamond Speedway. Hope to see you there!
