Next Test & Tune at SSP on Wednesday, October 2
Newberrytown, PA (September 20, 2013) – Speedway officials have decided to make a decision early to postpone the racing events scheduled for Saturday night, September 21 to Sunday night, September 22 due to the impending rain forecast (90%) on Saturday night.  “We have many race teams coming from out-of-state and we didn’t want them to spend unnecessary time and money traveling to the track on Saturday with such a strong forecast of rain,” said SSP owner Todd Fisher. “We will also bump up the start time to 4:00 p.m.,” Fisher continued.  On Sunday, gates will open for the pit area at 1:30 p.m. and the grandstands at 2:00 p.m. with qualifying action beginning at 4:00 p.m.
For the first time in eight years, the Susquehanna Showdown will be a one day show.  The 8th Annual Susquehanna Showdown is highlighted with a 50-lap feature for the 358ci Late Models and a PA Sprint Series Interregional Race on Sunday night, September 22 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park.  The race is presented by Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic.  The winner will earn $2,000 for the victory.

The fast timer of the night in time trials will receive $200 for JR’s Paving.  If they fast timer should break the 22-year old record of 19.60 seconds set by Ron Little on May 5, 1991, they will receive an additional $100 bonus.  Each driver will receive two laps in qualifying.  JR’s Paving will also sponsor a hard charger award for the 50 lapper.
In memory of Carl Billet, there will be a $100 bonus for the second place finisher compliments of Dana Billet (wife of Carl Billet) along with Rich and M.J. Whitfield (longtime car owners for Carl).
