WOODALL JR., KILLIAN, AND YETTER OPEN COAL CRACKER WEEKEND WITH VICTORIES

MINERSVILLE, PA - September 2nd, 2013

Ray Woodall Jr. was finally able to shake off the bad luck that seemed to follow him the entire month of August to score the victory in the 25 lap Sportsman race that kicked off Coal Cracker weekend.

Woodall, who also won his heat race, bolted into the early lead from his 3rd starting spot and was never really challenged.  He led the vast majority of the event to cross the line first and collect the hefty $1,000 pay day for his 25 laps of work.  It was the second win of the season for Woodall, with the other victory occurring back on June 21st.  Current point leader Jared Umbenhauer came on late in the race from his 10th starting spot to finish 2nd, followed by 9th starter Doug Hendricks, 13 starting Shawn Fitzpatrick, making a rare start in the Sportsman division, and Kevin Beach Jr., whose saw his two race winning streak snapped.  sixth thru tenth were Craig Whitmoyer, in only his second start of the season in the Sportsman division, Joe Mooney, Colt Harris, Robin Schultz, and AJ Gerhart.

Heat races were won by Shawn Light, Woodall, and Umbenhauer.

Kyle Killian passed leader Jim Kost with one lap to go to score the victory in the Roadrunner portion of the event.  Kost unfortunately had a tire go flat over the final lap of the event, spoiling his chances at victory and relegating him to a seventh place finish at the checkered.  Marc Berzowski, who had to start scratch on the field after being disqualified from his heat for failing to cross the scale, came from the 24th spot to finish 2nd.  Chris Holland came home third, followed by Terry Kramer Jr. and Jeremy Becker.  Sixth thru tenth were Tom Hablett, Jim Kost, Joe Kavanaugh, Tim Fitzpatrick Jr., and Andrew Fayash III.

Heat races were won by Kris Ney, Kost, and Kramer.

Jeremy Becker picked up the overall victory in the Roadrunner one-on-one challenge races in a back-up #21 car.  He was able to beat Kyle Killian in the final match race to win the $150 top prize.

Ricky Yetter bolted into the lead from his outside pole starting spot to lead all 20 laps of the Modified non-winners race.  Yetter picked up a set of four American Racer tires for his victory.  Kevin Smith came home second, followed by Dale Hartz, Bobby Gunther Walsh, and Shawn Fitzpatrick.
