EXCITEMENT BUILDING FOR THE 43RD ANNUAL BPG RACING FREEDOM 76 MODIFIED CLASSIC AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY; ADVANCE TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABE SOON
BECHTELSVILLE, PA August 16, 2013 . . . There is just about a month before the 43rd annual BPG Racing Freedom 76 race, the richest event in the tri-state area for 358 Modifieds, will take place at Grandview Speedway. The stock car racing classic featuring some of the best known names in the sport is set for a 7 p.m. start on Saturday, September 14th. And if weather does not cooperate the event will be moved to Saturday, September 21st.
Over the years some of the biggest names in dirt track Modified stock car racing have participated in the BPG Racing Freedom 76 and many of the big names have been able to win, some more than once. Dirt track racing legend Billy Pauch has won six times with the last win coming in 2000. Duane Howard is a five time winner while nine time track champion Jeff Strunk has four wins and that includes the richest which was last year when the 50th anniversary season celebration earned Strunk more than $50,000 for the 2012 Freedom 76 victory. Current point leader Craig VonDohren has won four times while Meme DeSantis has took home the top prize three times.
Past champion Ray Swinehart has been a winner in the Classic along with Kenny Brightbill. All these winners remain active in the sport and there is a strong possibility that all of them will be entered in an effort to claim the $25,000 being offered to the winner along with about $2,000 in lap prize money and other perks.
During the course of the Freedom 76 evening there will be a series of qualifying events, a Schaffer Motorsports Minuteman 20 (last chance to make the big race) and the Mertz Flying Mullet Cash Dash that features the top performers from the evenings qualifying races.
Entry information is expected to be posted at www.grandviewspeedway.com shortly and advance tickets will also be on sale at the track in the very near future. Adult admission for the September 14th race will be $30 while youngsters 6 through 12 will pay $10 and those under 6 will be admitted FREE.
A SPECIAL OFFER is in place right now that includes an advance ticket and a lap sponsorship for the big event. That is a $50 value for just $40 while the special offer is still in place. The special can be had by visiting the track office on Saturday nights. Fans interested in the special can send a check to cover each ticket/lap package to ESC, Inc. 1448 Hollywood Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope and the wording you would want included with your lap when it appears in the special Freedom 76 program book. As this was being written there were just 30 of these packages remaining.
Lap sponsorships that are not part of the special package are priced at $20.
Information on auto racing at Grandview Speedway can be found at www.grandviewspeedway.com or telephone 610.754.7688.
