DOPKE DOUBLES UP AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Bridgeport, NJ (August 3, 2013) – On Twin 15 Night at Bridgeport
Speedway, Joe Dopke swept both main events for the 270cc
Micro-Sprints. Andrew Locuson topped the field in the IPM Pest
Management 600cc Micro-Sprint feature. The 4-Cylinder Enduro Car race
was won by Scott Dunn.

Joe Dopke made two visits to Bridgeport Speedway’s Victory Lane as he
took the checkered flag in both 15-lap features for the 270cc
Micro-Sprints. In the first main event, Dopke darted to the front on
the opening lap from his third place starting position and paced the
field for the entire distance. Chris Locuson captured the runner-up
spot. Third place was taken by Justin Stillwagon with Lee Nardelli
finishing fourth and Brian Morrill holding on for fifth.

With the top eight finishers from the first event inverted for the
second 15-lap feature for the 270cc Micro-Sprints, Steve Coslop
grabbed the lead at the start. Tyler Reinhardt motored by Coslop on
the sixth circuit. Following a caution period on the seventh tour, Joe
Dopke went from third to first on the restart and pulled away from the
pack in the remaining laps to rack up his second win of the evening.
Reinhardt and Coslop were the next to follow Dopke across the finish
line. Justin Stillwagon and John Blanda rounded out the top five. Joe
Dopke and John Blanda scored wins in the heat races for the 270cc
Micro-Sprints.

In the 20-lap IPM Pest Management 600cc Micro-Sprint feature, Andrew
Locuson came from the sixth starting spot to take home the win. Jon
Keller paced the field for the first nine circuits. Locuson, who had
moved into second place on the fifth revolution of the quarter mile
track, began to close in on the leader by the eighth circuit. As the
top two began to encounter some slower competitors on lap 10, Locuson
drove to the inside of Keller in turn three and escaped with the lead.
Once in front, Locuson held off the competition on two restarts to
preserve the win. Ernie Miles crossed the finish line in second place.
Third went to Richie Keller. Bill Thomas and Lee Nardelli rounded out
the top five. The IPM Pest Management 600cc Micro-Sprint qualifying
events were taken by Jon Keller, Ernie Miles, and Tim Iulg.

In the exciting 20 lap race for the 4-Cylinder Enduro Cars, Scott Dunn
held off Warren Stradley to win his fifth feature of the season. After
leading the pack for the opening three circuits, Dunn lost the lead as
Joe LaClaire became the new pacesetter on lap 4. Following a sixth
tour caution period, John Webster became the new leader when green
flag racing resumed. Two laps later, Dunn took the lead for good and
repelled several advances by Stradley in the final tours to gain the
victory. Webster, LaClaire, and Art Knapp completed the top five
behind the top two of Dunn and Stradley.
