LAUBACH TRIUMPHS AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Bridgeport, NJ (July 14, 2013) – On Swedesboro and Women on Wheels
Night presented by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Rick
Laubach won the Big Block Modified feature at Bridgeport Speedway. Bob
Lilick topped the field in the Crate/Sportsman division. Ron Frees was
the victor in the Outlaw Stock Car main event.

After the original start of the 30-lap Big Block Modified feature was
curtailed due to a caution, Jack Swain hopped out to the front and was
followed by Tommy Beamer and Rick Laubach. Laubach moved into the
runner-up position just before the yellow flag waved on the second
circuit for a slowing Tom Macccherone. As action got back underway,
Laubach rocketed to the lead with Swain, Richie Pratt, Jr., Beamer,
and Sam Martz in tow. On the third tour, another caution period
occurred as Eric Kormann’s ride began to slow on the track. Laubach
repelled Swain on the ensuing restart to maintain his lead with Pratt,
Jr., Ryan Watt, and Beamer next in line. By lap 5, Mike Iles, the
thirteenth place starter, had moved into fifth place. With ten
circuits completed, Laubach had a half-straightaway advantage over
Swain with Pratt, Jr. closing in on the second place runner. On lap
17, Pratt, Jr. passed Swain to gain the runner-up position. With ten
tours to go, Laubach was continuing to set the pace through lap
traffic with Pratt, Jr., Swain, Iles and Watt in pursuit. Jimmy
Horton, who was involved in the original start mishap, drove into
fourth place on lap 25. On the next circuit, the last caution period
of the race took place when Mike Barone’s car stopped on the
backstretch and wiped out Laubach’s comfortable advantage over the
pack. As racing resumed, Laubach maintained his lead with Pratt, Jr.
in second and Iles third. Over the final tours, Laubach was not
challenged and he collected his second victory of the year. Iles
nipped Pratt, Jr. at the finish line to complete the race in second.
Horton wound up in fourth and Swain finished in fifth. Wade
Hendrickson, Rick Laubach, and Tom Maccherone won the heats in the Big
Block Modified class. The consolation event was taken by Scott Irwin.

After grabbing the lead from his brother, Kris Lilick, on the eighth
circuit, Bob Lilick led the remaining distance to capture his second
20-lap Crate/Sportsman feature win of the season. Kris Lilick crossed
the finish line in second. Matt Budd took third place after starting
the contest in thirteenth. Ryan Anderson and Gary Hieber, Jr.
completed the top five. The victors of the Crate/Sportsman qualifying
events were Jesse Bonaduce, Brett Ballard, and Dave Damiano. Ricky
DiEva grabbed the win in the Crate/Sportsman consolation race.

In the 15-lap Outlaw Stock Car feature, Ron Frees was victorious for
the sixth time in 2013. Tom Wills, Jr. led the opening ten circuits.
After a multi-lap battle for the lead, Frees took the top position
from Wills, Jr. and held the lead for the final tours. Wills, Jr. took
the runner-up spot with third going to Brian Ludwig. The top five was
rounded out by Jimmy Avery and Jimmy Hughes. Tom Wills, Jr. and Jimmy
Hughes captured the checkered flag in the Outlaw Stock Car heat races.
