BERGER TAKES WIN IN 270cc MICRO SPRINTS, SCHOFFSTALL REPEATS

MINERSVILLE, PA - MAY 3rd, 2013

Kevin Berger jumped into the lead from his pole starting position and never looked back, leading wire to wire to score his first ever Little Diamond Speedway victory in the 20 lap 270cc Micro Sprint event. He was followed across the line by Luke Kroboth, last weeks winner Ed Kenderdine, and Brandon Firestine. Hunter James did not finish the event but was credited with a fifth place finish.

In the accompanying 20 lap Slingshot event, Alex Schoffstall took the lead from his outside pole position and led all 20 laps. The victory was the 2nd in a row for Schoffstall, as he has led all 45 feature event laps run so far for the Slingshots on Little Diamond. Racing behind Schoffstall was exciting, with Dalton Maynard, Matt Miller, Ray Nemeth, and Damien Nemeth all running within two cars lengths of one another for the first ten laps of the race. Damien Nemeth dropped out with mechanical issues on lap 11, but Maynard, Ray Nemeth, and Miller continued their tight battle right down to the checkered flag. At the finish it was Maynard coming home 2nd from his 6th starting spot, Miller from the 5th starting position, and Ray Nemeth. Damien Nemeth was credited with the 5th position.

The entire racing card took only 50 minutes to complete. Only one caution flag slowed the evenings activities.

Racing on Little Diamond Speedway continues on Thursday, May 16th, with a full card of 270cc Micro Sprint and Slingshot racing.
