BUCKWALTER PICKS UP BACK TO BACK ARDC WINS

Steve Buckwalter Wins ARDC Event at Williams Grove

Steve Buckwalter came out of Williams Grove with his second ARDC Midget victory of the season just on week after winning the 2013 season opener.

Twenty-nine ARDC Midgets went to the post to earn a starting position in the twenty six car field for the twenty lap main event. Buckwalter's opening day win found him seated deep in the pack - starting 15th at the start of the race.

Polesitter, Brenden Bright, paced the field from wave of the green with PJ Gargiulo pressuring him all the way. A multi car tangle in turn four prevented the scoring of the first lap as Mark Gilmore, Nick Wean and Austin Burke retired from the race. A complete restart was called for and again, it was Bright who paced the field.

Bright, who was the winner of this race a year ago, began to put some distance between himself and the field by lap three. Reading, PA Steven Drevicki was on the move as he moved up to fourth on lap four. On lap six, Drevicki overtook PJ Gargiulo for third and Buckwalter moved up to fourth.

By half way, Buckwalter ran in third behind Bright and Carey Boyer. Boyer, who was racing an Elite Chassis car built by Buckwalter, lost the runner-up spot to Buckwalter on lap twelve. Before the lap was scored, Buckwalter had overtaken Bright for the lead.

As Buckwalter drove away from the field, the battle resumed for a spot in the top five. Drevicki took over second with four laps remaining. Tim Buckwalter moved up to third one lap later after starting from the 20th starting spot.

Ryan Greth took over fifth on lap eighteen and then moved by Bright to take the fourth spot.

With the checkered waving, it would be Steve Buckwalter for the second week in a row over Steven Drevicki, Tim Buckwalter, Ryan Greth and Brenden Bright.

The Hyper Hard Charger Award was awarded to Tim Buckwalter for his race from twentieth to finish third.
