LITTLE DIAMOND SPEEDWAY READY FOR OPENING DAY

MINERSVILLE, PA - APRIL 7th, 2013

After over a year in the making, the time has come. In a little over one week, Little Diamond Speedway will open for its inaugural season, with the first event being held on Thursday, April 18th.

Interest is running high, with call and emails arriving daily from interested competitors.

Eleven shows will be presented for the 2013 season, two each in April, May, June, August, and September. There will only be one event in July.

All shows will include the 125cc Micro Sprints, 270cc Micro Sprints, and Slingshots. A full slate qualifying events along with 20 lap features will be run for each division.

The format for each event will be simple. Drivers will draw for heat starting spots each and every week. The top four finishers in each heat event will then redraw for feature starting spots. No handicapping will be used for any regular events. Simply put, draw - race - get paid - go home.

The only exception will be on Thursday, April 25th when a tour race is presented for the Slingshot division. On that evening we will follow standard procedures for a Slingshot tour race.

Gates open at 6 PM with warm-ups slated for 6:45 PM. Managements goal is to have the entire show completed in 2 hours or less each and every week to insure everyone gets home at a reasonable hour.

Pit participation fee will be $20 per person, with no age limits on who can enter the pit area. Pit membership is free, with no license required. Car registration is $20 per car/per division. Grandstand admission will be $8.00 per person for everyone ages 13 and up. Children 12 years of age and under are admitted free if accompanied by a paying adult.

Purses will be based off car counts for each and every division.
