GRANDVIEW SETS FREE PRACTICE DAY, TWIN-35s FOR MODS SCHEDULED, BPG RACING AND TP TRAILERS RETURN AS SPONSORS
BECHTELSVILLE, PA January 4, 2013 . . . The annual practice day that kicks off the season at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway has been scheduled for Saturday, March 30th with a 12 noon starting time.
Practice, free-to-the-public, proves to be a popular attraction with fans coming out to see all the new racing equipment as it is tested just before the season opens the following Saturday. The practice session is open to all divisions of competition that are planning to race at the one-third-mile, banked clay track during the 2013 season, the 51st consecutive season of operation for the Berks County racing facility.
The chase for the lucrative NASCAR and track point championships will get underway on Saturday, April 6th with a tripleheader show featuring the NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modifieds, Late Models and Sportsman stock cars. Grandview is unique in that it offers two point funds for racers in each division. Racing will have a 7 p.m. starting time on Saturday nights during April.
All Saturday night regular shows will feature qualifying events for all three divisions of competition with a 30 lap feature for the Modifieds, 25 laps for the Late Models (this is an increase in laps from previous years when 20 lap features were run) and 25 laps for the Sportsman.
There will be no increase in ticket prices for the Saturday night regular events with adults admitted for $14 and youngsters 12 and under admitted FREE. There is free parking on the speedway grounds.
The first extra distance event of the new season will take place on Saturday, April 13th when the NASCAR 358 Modifieds will be featured in Twin 35-lap features paying $3,000 to the winner of each. In addition there will be 25 lap features for the Late Models and Sportsman.
A complete schedule of events for Grandview Speedway will be available at the Motorsports 2013 Race Car and Trade Show being presented at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA, January 18-20. Grandview Speedway will be part of a display at the show along with the Thunder on the Hill Series that will once again be part of the racing action at the Bechtelsville, PA oval.

BPG Racing will again return as sponsor of the biggest event of the season when the BPG Racing Freedom 76 is presented on Saturday, September 14th with a September 21st rain date. The 76-lap race, featuring many of the top names in area dirt track stock car racing, will pay the winner $25,000 making it the richest event for the 358 Modifieds.
TP Trailers of Limerick, PA will return as a major sponsor posting $250 for the winner of each NASCAR 358 Modified feature race, $100 for the winner of each Late Model and Sportsman race. In order to collect the bonus the winning racer must be have the TP Trailers decal clearly visible on both sides of the race car.
Jeff Teets and his Salvage Transport Co. will continue to post a cash bonus to the Hard Charger in each of the weekly NASCAR Late Model feature races.
