Title Sponsor; Show Set For Fairgrounds Square Mall Feb. 24-March 2,
2013
READING,
PA - A
28-year tradition in Berks County boasts a new marketing partner for
2013.
The Berks-Schuylkill
Oil Heat Association has signed on as title sponsor of the 28th annual Racing
Legends Reunion & Car Show set for Feb. 24-March 2, 2013 at the Fairgrounds
Square Mall on 5th Street Highway in Muhlenberg Township, Pa.
The weeklong,
free-to-the-public show takes place in the shopping center on the site of the
former Reading Fairgrounds Speedway, the famed 'Home of Champions' which hosted
its final stock car race in June 1979.
The Racing Legends
Reunion is a showcase of auto racing in Berks County and beyond, featuring
current-day race cars of all varieties, restored/vintage cars, interviews with
drivers, autograph sessions, speedway displays, vendors and daily activities
highlighted by the Reading Fairgrounds Speedway Reunion held on Friday night of
the show (March 1). The show is open during mall hours.
The show will now be
known as the Berks-Schuylkill Oil Heat Association Racing Legends Reunion &
Car Show.
The Berks-Schuylkill
Oil Heat Association (BSOHA) exists to promote and educate current and
prospective heating oil customers as to the benefits of oil heat. BSOHA members
are local oil companies and associate businesses that service the oil heat
industry.
These local companies
provide a wide range of products and services to enhance their customers'
satisfaction, as well as a dedication to serving the needs of the public and oil
heat industry alike. To learn more about The Berks-Schuylkill Oil Heat
Association log onto: www.bsoha.org.
“BSOHA is extremely
pleased to serve as the title sponsor of the Racing Legends Reunion & Car
Show. The Reading Fairgrounds was an integral part of the make-up of the Reading
area for a long time. Through motorsports the Fairgrounds was able to build an
identity with the community, a lot like the members of the Berks-Schuylkill Oil
Heat Association do with their customers and communities alike,” BSOHA President
Kevin Steele said.
“The show has grown
over the years and is very family oriented event. We at BSOHA thought it would
be a natural fit for us to get involved.”

18-20, 2013.

the Friday festivities will be joined by recognition of current-day car
owners.
Drivers from the past,
present and future will be available for autographs during the anticipated
event. There will be driver interviews and other activities on stage in the
mall's Center Court.

Show awards -
highlighted by the fourth presentation of the Don Marks Memorial Contribution to
Motorsports Award - will be handed out at the BASH Racing Awards Party on
Friday, March 1. There will be divisional awards and an overall, fan-voted, Best

who passed away in 2008. Previous award recipients include Bob Greene of Pioneer
Pole Buildings (2012), car owner, fabricator and former racer Dennis ‘Chico’
Bailey (2011) and Area Auto Racing News publisher/promoter Len Sammons (2010).
