YOUTHFUL MODIFIED SENSATION MIKE MAHANEY JOINS MODIFIED FIELD SATURDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 13 AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

HOUSE OF THUNDER HALLOWEEN PARTY AND GRANDVIEW THUNDER 5-25’S TO CLOSE OUT THUNDER SERIES OF 2012

One of the most talented rising stars of the modified ranks, Mike Mahaney of King Ferry, NY will be an entry in the 25 lap BPG Modified feature event Saturday night at the Grandview Speedway. At age 23, Mahaney is hot off his biggest career win just several weeks back at the Fonda Speedway. Mahaney loves Grandview and is looking for his first win on the hill. This will be no easy task as Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard, Craig VonDohren and MeMe DeSantis are just a few of the top contenders chasing the $3,000 payoff.

The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series House of Thunder Halloween Party & the Grandview Thunder 5-25’s will close out the Thunder Series for the 2012 season. The five feature program will showcase the NASCAR Modifieds, URC Sprints, ARDC Midgets, Sportsman and Legend cars. Added attractions include the Blast from the Past Vintage Cars & Garden State Vintage Cars along with the Vince’s Towing Owner’s Race. The night cap will be the Monster Smash Demolition Derby with the popular Joe the Pizza Dude entering the event in his NAPA Auto Parts/Pizza Pie special entry. Gates will open at 4 PM with the first of five features taking the green flag at 6 PM on Saturday night.

The five divisions of racing will bring together over one-hundred of the top drivers in five divisions of dirt track racing. The stars from the 358 Modifieds, Rislone URC Sprint Series, ARDC Wingless Midgets, Sportsman and Legends will all try to add there name to the TOTH 2012 win list.

The Rislone URC Sprint feature sponsored by Pioneer Pole Buildings will pay $3,000 to the winner and this event will determine the URC point champion. Robbie Stillwaggon holds a 25 point lead over Davie Franek and the gloves will come off in this feature event. Both Stillwaggon and Franek are chasing their first ever URC Championship.

Also on the card will be the Blast From the Past & Garden State Vintage Cars racing in a feature event. You should also expect to see the Vince’s Towing Owners Race, a special 10 lap feature for current modified owners to climb in their car and go after the win. To participate, car owners are required to drive the car they own.

The show will start at 6 PM with gates opening at 4 PM. Kids and adults are encouraged to take part in the Halloween theme by dressing up in their favorite costumes. To add to the fun and festivities will be the chance to win various prizes.
