Thursday Night Test & Tune is on October 25
Newberrytown,
PA (October 4, 2012) - A special season-ending Thursday Night Test & Tune
session will be held on Thursday,
October 25 at the Susquehanna Speedway Park. It is open to any type of racecars capable of
competing on the 4/10 mile oval. The
cost is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar
entering the pit area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with open track time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by class. Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per
session. The grandstands are open free
to the public. Each class will receive
4 to 5 rounds of 6/8 laps
each or more if time permits. The
fuel pumps from Miller’s Racing Parts will not be open. The main concession stand will be open
throughout the night.
All pit passes
from the postponed September 19 Test & Tune may be exchanged for half price
($6.00) pit admission for the remainder of the 2012 season at any Test &
Tune. Pit passes from September 19 must
be presented for exchange. Car entry
fees will be half price for each car ($10.00) from September 19 and may be used
once for the remainder of the season.

Salvage Candy Bowl VIII Set for Saturday, October 27
No
Entry Fees for Any Classes at the Candy Bowl
Newberrytown,
PA (October 4, 2012) –
The 8th Annual Candy Bowl presented by J&K Salvage of York will
be held on Saturday, October 27. This
event will feature the wingless ARDC Midgets, 600cc Micro Sprints, Sportsman
Modifieds, Legends Cars, Lincoln Thundercars, Sidewinder Sprints and Mini
Vans. There is no entry fee for any division
racing at the Candy Bowl. The
raindate will be Sunday, October 28 with the same time
schedule.
Before
the midget feature begins, the cars and drivers in all divisions will be brought
to the frontstretch for the children in costumes to trick or treat. This will also be a great opportunity for
everyone to visit their favorite drivers to get pictures and autographs.
The
wingless ARDC Midget race is the final race of the series’ season and the 2012
ARDC Midgets champion will be crowned following the feature
event.
The
open comp Sportsman Modified race will follow the generally accepted Sportsman Modified rules throughout
local tracks in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. Sail panels are permitted and the minimum
weight rule will be 2,450 lbs. The
20-lap feature will pay $1,000 to the winner and $100 to start.
The
open competition 600cc Micro Sprints will pay $500.00 to the winner with no
entry fee. Past Candy Bowl winners that include Cody
Darrah and Brent Marks have gone on to current successful 410 Super Sprint Car
careers. Others who have added a Candy
Bowl victory to their resumes include Ben Murphy, Jimmy Brookens, Heath Henley,
Shane Lewis and Tyler Walton. No driver
has been able to capture the 600cc Micro Sprint portion of the Candy Bowl
twice.
The
Lincoln Thundercars race will pay $350.00 to the winner ($50.00 added by
Frankie’s Used Auto Parts) and sponsored by PAthundercars.com. A trophy will be provided to the winner
compliments of Emlet Fabrication as well as a brand new yellow top battery from
Optima Batteries (valued at $240.00).
There will also be another battery awarded to the hard charger of the
race compliments of Optima Batteries as well.
Frankie’s Used Auto Parts will also award $50.00 as the Hard Luck
Award. Special thanks goes to Joey
Sterner for putting the additional prizes together for this race.
Gates
will open for the pit area at 11:30 a.m. and grandstand area at 12:00 p.m. Track Prep Laps begin at 1:15 p.m. with
racing action beginning at 2:00 p.m.
General
Admission Grandstand ticket prices for Saturday night are Adults (ages 18-59)
$15.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $13.00;
Children (10 & under) are free. Pit
pass prices are $25.00. The minimum age
requirement to purchase a pit pass is 12 years of age with a copy of a birth
certificate is required for all ages 12 to 14.

Turkey 200 Enduro Presented by Keller Williams Realty on Saturday, November 3
Newberrytown,
PA (October 4, 2012) – On
Saturday afternoon, November 3, the Susquehanna Speedway Park will host the
9th Annual Turkey 200 presented by Keller Williams Realty. Also the Classic Cars and Pro Sign &
Design Mini Vans will take to the track before the Enduro events. A special 20-lap Figure 8 race will take place
after the Big Car Enduro race.
New
this year, the Big Cars (8-cylinder) Enduro Event will utilize small common set
of rules along with the driver’s hometrack rules. Any car similar to the SSP Xtreme Stocks
rules will be accepted from 12 speedways from Pennsylvania, Maryland and
Virginia and one sanctioning body.
The
Big Car rules enforced will be in accordance with the rules below along with
your own local 2012 track rules
(as designated on the entry form). The
rules below supercede your declared track rules.
1.
Chassis
– Must have a minimum of a 4-point roll cage and all cars must have a properly
mounted fuel cell.
2.
Engine
– 365 cubic inch limit with factory stock stroke. No Vacuum Rule in effect (hydraulic cams
still required).
3.
Carb
& Fuel - All cars may use a stock Holley 2bbl 500 cfm carburetor #4412 or
the carb according to your local track rules.
The choke plate may be removed but no other modifications are
permitted. Gasoline (racing fuel)
only. No alcohol, nitro, oxygenators, or
any other additives permitted.
4.
Tires
& Wheels – Steel wheels permitted up to 8” wide. Beadlocks permitted. Only D.O.T. street legal tires are permitted
(up to 60 series) on all cars. No racing
tires.
5.
Brakes
– No cockpit adjustable brake systems permitted.
All
entrants must declare the local track rules (2012 only) to which they will
compete under (no mixing of track rules).

to the Big Car Enduro, the Small Car (4/6-Cylinder) Enduro will also use a small
set of similar rules along with the

The 4-cylinders and 6-cylinders will
run the same race, but scored separately and each paid a separate purse based on
car count.

The
Final Showdown at SSP to Now Pay $6,000-To-Win on Saturday, November 10
Newberrytown,
PA (October 4, 2012) – On
Saturday afternoon, November 10, the Susquehanna Speedway Park will host The
Final Showdown for the Super (410) Sprint Cars in the Central PA area as well as
the entire United States for 2011. Also
included in this special program will be the popular 358 Sprint Cars. The raindate will be Sunday, November
11.
The
Super (410) Sprint Car feature event will be 30-laps and pay the winner $6,000 if the driver is pre-entered on
or before Monday, November 5. Anyone
entering the event on Tuesday, November 6 or after will receive
$5,000-to-win. The race will also now
pay and increased amount of $300 to start the feature. Tow money ($50.00) for non-qualifying drivers
will only be paid to those who pre-entered before November 5. For the Super
Sprint Cars, mufflers WILL NOT be required and an open tire rule on all
four corners will be in place. All other rules of the Central PA Super (410) Sprint Cars will prevail
for this event. Raceivers
will be mandatory.
The
358 Sprint Car feature event will be 20-laps and pay the winner $2,000 if they
are pre-entered on or before Monday, November 5. Anyone entering the event on Tuesday,
November 6 or after will receive $1,500-to-win.
The race will also now pay and increased amount of $200 to start the
feature.Tow money ($50.00) for non-qualifying drivers will only be paid to those
who pre-entered before November 3. The tire rule will be the same used at the regular 358 Sprint Car
tracks – (All right rear
tires used must be a HOOSIER National Sprint Spec tire, size 105/18-15. Any SC
compound tire is permitted). All other
rules of the Central PA 358 Sprint Cars will prevail for this event.
Mufflers are not required for the 358 Sprint Cars. Raceivers will be
mandatory.
For
both the Super Sprint Cars and 358 Sprint Cars, the starting positions for the
Qualifying Heat races will be aligned through a blind draw at the pit gate on
the day of the event. Feature lineups
for both classes will be determined by heat race number one winner drawing for
an inversion (1,3,6) or (1,2,4,6,8) depending on the number of heat races.
As
an extra bonus, all pre-entrants will be able to draw a second time for a
starting position if he or she does not like their first draw for position. However, the entrant must take the second
drawn spot regardless of whether or not it is a better starting position.
Pre-entry
for the event was not mandatory, but highly encouraged to receive the benefits
of pre-entering. A Pre-entry with the fee ($50.00) must be
postmarked by Monday, November 5, 2012.
All entries postmarked on or after Tuesday, November 6, 2012 will not
receive the bonus winner’s pay, tow money if not qualified and the choice for
second pill draw. Entries will be taken
on the day of the event. The entry fee
includes a complimentary pit pass for the driver.

Track Rental for the “Big Track”
– The “Big track” is available for rent.
The “Big Track” rental fee is $1,400.00 for 4 hours and may be split
between a maximum of five-(5) drivers/teams.
Only one car is permitted on the track at a time. If an ambulance is requested, it is an
additional $75.00 per hour. For
nighttime rentals at the “Big Track”, an additional $100.00 per hour will be
charged for lights. To reserve either
track, please call 717-292-1696.
