SECOND ANNUAL BILL THOMAS MEMORIAL MICRO-SPRINT NATIONALS IS SET FOR
BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Swedesboro, NJ (September 9, 2012) – The action on Bridgeport
Speedway’s quarter mile has been intense throughout the 2012 season.
On Saturday, October 6, the action will be even hotter as the second
annual Bill Thomas Memorial Micro-Sprint Nationals will be contested
on the inner dirt oval at Bridgeport Speedway. “All of us at
Bridgeport Speedway appreciate the support throughout the season from
our Friday night competitors and we look forward to a successful Bill
Thomas Memorial race,” stated first-year promoter Doug Hoffman.

Like last year’s edition, the 2012 version of the Bill Thomas Memorial
Micro-Sprint Nationals will showcase 30-lap features for the 270cc and
600cc Micro-Sprints with $1000 going to the top finisher of each main
event. Through sponsorship efforts by the family of Bill Thomas, all
finishing places from second on back through the field will be
increased as they were in 2011. The take the green money will be $80.
This special season ending race on the quarter-mile honors the late
William “Bill” Thomas IV, who passed away on October 23, 2010
following a courageous battle with cancer. Thomas was active in racing
since the early 90s and an ardent supporter of Bridgeport Speedway’s
Micro-Sprint race program. In addition, the 4-Cylinder Enduro Cars are
on the racing agenda.

On Saturday, October 6, the gates unlock at 3:00 PM. Warm-ups will get
underway at 5:00 PM with action set to begin shortly after hot laps.
Pit admission will be $30. General grandstand admission will be $15
with no charge for kids 12 and under. Entry forms for the Bill Thomas
Memorial Micro-Sprint Nationals are available at the speedway and at
www.bpspeedway.com under the driver forms tab.
