DOUBLE HEADER
WEEKEND QUICKLY APPROACHING FOR NEETS ENDURO COMPETITORS…
April 6, 2012 –
Warminster, PA – There’s no doubt that 2012 is the most action packed and
aggressive schedule for the North East Enduro Tour Series (NEETS). As a matter
of fact, the series will be in competition at a pair of speedways for the
weekend of April 14th and 15th.
The NEETS small car division will compete in a 50-lap endurance race on
Saturday night April 14th at the New Egypt (NJ) Speedway. The famed
dirt track, described as a 7/16th mile oval, has hosted enduros in
the past and this will be the first under the NEETS banner. Gates open at
4:00PM, racing starts at 6:00PM and the 50-lap small car enduro concludes the
evening’s festivities. The event will pay $500 to the race winner, and a special
bonus will be added if the field of cars reaches the 50 mark.
The Small Car Saturday Night Series will be a points “mini-series”. A
championship trophy and custom printed leather jackets will be up for grabs at
the annual awards banquet held at season’s end. The top finishing five in points
will be recognized at the awards gala.
Some of the drivers already pre-registered for Saturday’s festivities
include: former NEETS champion Phil Levering, past NES Crate Sportsman
competitor Pat Hires and the entire Dunn Racing team of John Crosby, Nick Leach,
Scott, Mike, Robby, and Justin Dunn.
On Sunday afternoon April 15th, Wall Stadium Speedway presents
race #3 of the Scott Dunn Auto Service Asphalt Series. The Tax Evaders 150 takes
place for the big and small cars. The ladies division will hold a 25-lap event
to complete the afternoon’s festivities. Pit gates open for inspection and
registration at 9:00AM followed by a driver’s meeting at 12:00PM, and the small
car enduro begins promptly at 1:00PM. Adult general admission to Wall’s
grandstands on April 15th is just $10.
After two events completed in the Asphalt Series, there have been no
repeat winners. Dan Birdsall and Mike Wahl (small cars), Howie Bott and Rob
Longo (big cars) and Linsey Rummel and Tiffany Olejnik (ladies) have each
emerged victorious this season.
Some of the Big Car competitors already pre-registered for the Tax
Evaders 150 are: legendary enduro racers Richard Petey and Howie Bott, Sport
Modified competitor Scott Riggleman, along with experienced racers Felix
Ciatarrelli, Ned Coolbaugh, and Anthony Bell. Once again the Dunn racing team is
prepared for the small car showdown along with such drivers as Shannon Mongeau
and Howard Effron.
The NEETS Asphalt Series is a nine-race points paying event which will
compete at Wall Stadium Speedway on various Sunday afternoons this season. The
small and big cars will also have a few special Saturday night races at the
speedway in 2012. For complete schedule, rule, and pre-registration information
be sure to check the official tour website located at www.neetsracing.com
.
The third speedway that will present NEETS races this season is the 1/3
mile dirt oval of Grandview (PA) Speedway. The first race at the Bechtelsville
PA based facility will be Sunday April 29 in the running of the annual Fem-Duro
event. Unfortunately, Mother Nature delayed the start of the Grandview/NEETS
season back on March 31st, so drivers will be highly anticipating
this event to be held later in the month. And, as an added bonus to the
Grandview cards, the all new blast from the past vintage race car club will be
on hand with a points paying event for their series. All Grandview Sunday
Afternoon shows begin at 1:00PM.
NEETS is back in a huge way this year at three fantastic speedways. Stay
tuned to the official website for complete updates as the season
progresses.
