JAY HARTMAN COMES FROM SIXTEENTH TO WIN AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY

Swedesboro, NJ (April 14, 2012) – At the Fast and Furious Friday Night
2012 Opener, Jay Hartman came from sixteenth to capture the 600cc
Micro-Sprint feature. Veteran John Blanda took top honors in the 270cc
Micro-Sprint division. The 4-Cylinder Stock Car race was won by Warren
Stradley.

At the start of the 20-lap 600cc Micro-Sprint feature, Bill Thomas
blasted to the front from his outside pole starting spot. With five
tours completed in the event, Thomas was still on top with Lee
Nardelli and Jermain Godshall in pursuit. Back in the pack, Jay
Hartman, who started the race in sixteenth, was dicing his way to the
front. By the ninth circuit, the hard charging Hartman was up to
third. Following a restart on lap 11, Hartman advanced into the
runner-up spot and set his eyes on Thomas. Thomas held off Hartman on
the fourteenth lap restart to keep his lead. One tour later, the final
caution flag of the event waved. As action got back underway, Hartman
motored by Thomas to take the top spot. Hartman continued to set the
pace for the remainder of the contest to collect the checkered flag.
Thomas held on for second. Godshall got past Nardelli in the final
laps to take third. With Nardelli finishing in fourth, Joe Kay wound
up in fifth. Tim Iulg, Chris Panczner, Bryant Davis, and Dave Carlberg
were victorious in the qualifying events. The consolation race was
taken by Steven Bracall.

Veteran John Blanda led the entire distance to win the 20-lap feature
for the 270cc Micro-Sprints. Blanda, who has been racing 270cc
Micro-Sprints for twenty years, started on the pole as he collected
his ninth career victory at Bridgeport Speedway. With a strong run,
Andrew Locuson finished in second. Justin Stillwagon, Ernie Miles, and
Charlie Lamanna rounded out the top five. The 270cc Micro-Sprint heat
winners were Andrew Locuson and Steve Coslop.

After a multi-lap battle with Scott Dunn, Warren Stradley escaped with
his fifty-second checkered flag in the 20-lap 4-Cylinder Stock Car
contest. Scott Dunn took second with Mike Dunn finishing in third. Joe
Garey and Art Knapp completed the top five.
