NASCAR WHELEN ALL AMERICAN SERIES CHAMPION DAVID POLENZ TO ATTEND 5TH ANNUAL NAPA AUTO PARTS DIRT TRACK HEROES EVENT AT PHILLIPSBURG MALL
The countdown for the upcoming and highly anticipated 5th Annual NAPA Auto Parts sponsored Dirt Track Heroes Show continues on and with each passing day leading up the show's opening on Sunday, March 4th, at the Phillipsburg Mall in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, additional integral pieces of the show develop quickly for the racing fans. Another great addition to an already loaded up week of driving stars came to fruition yesterday afternoon as NASCAR Whelen All American Series Champion at the Old Dominion Speedway, David Polenz will be on hand for the opening of the show and will also be on hand for the final day of the show on March 10th. The Polenz Family has been an integral part of the Dirt Track Heroes Show since its inception and has a long involvement with show hosts Ed and Steve Pados as Jeff Polenz's late brother Richie was at the controls of the Pados Modified at Flemington Speedway in the final dirt year at the speedway. David Polenz has transitioned into a championship driver since the inception of the Dirt Track Heroes show and has never forgotten his roots as he returns to the popular Mall show to meet and greet his adoring racing fans and sign autographs in his two scheduled appearances at the show. David's appearances are a culmination of the show staff and the great sponsorship David has garnered in his rise up the racing ladder with On The Run, GazZu Energy, Redline Power Rush, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Sheehy Auto Stores, Everitt Equipment, Carver's NAPA, Real Country, Etreme Graphics, County Line Fuel, The Lawrence Family and B&D Hirt providing valuable sponsorship assistance to the number 33 NASCAR Late Model. Although David is a native Garden Stater, these two appearance at the Phillipsburg Mall will be the final local appearances for David until the mid-summer months. David Polenz has placed much emphasis on his racing career and the hard work, dedication and sacrifices have all paid off as he steps onto the racing podium as the champion at his speedway of choice.

The stage show area will be sponsored by the IRCO Community Federal Credit Union and IRCO Vice President and noted Harmony Speedway Historian Greg Collins will be part of the announcing team headed up by longtime show hosts the Pados Brothers. The "Golden Era" of auto racing from the late fifties through the early eighties was an era that saw many changes take place in the way the race cars were constructed. The word "stock" gave way to ingenuity at first and followed closely by technology as the race cars became less stock appearing and relied more heavily on the latest speed part that would make the race car go faster. While the years have changed the look and the cost of racing, the spirit of the competition remains much as it was when racing in the local area was launched. The great fan base of racing can come out to this grand Mall event and be transported back to a time when they could hop into their family jitney and travel less than a half hour to witness the excitement of a night at the races. All historical racing groups including Reading, Flemington, Harmony, Dorney Park and Nazareth will have their memorabilia on display and their many scrapbooks open for the fans to take another long look at the glory years of racing and possibly find a picture or two they want to purchase as a keepsake from past glory or racing exploits.
