THE BATTLE AT LINCOLN 2012

MACH 1 CHASSIS, PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS, NAPA AUTO PARTS present. . . . .

BIG BLOCK MODIFIEDS & SPRINT CAR DOUBLEHEADER RETURN FOR THE BATTLE AT LINCOLN, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20

The first battle is history.

In 2011, the Big Block Modifieds made a historic return to the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA after a twenty-five year absence and without a doubt, the place was buzzing with excitement. The ROC (Race of Champions) modifieds sanctioned the program that lured the best modified drivers in the county to the Pigeon Hills of Pennsylvania. Ryan Godown captured the Pioneer Pole Buildings $5,000 first prize in the sixty lap Modified feature as Aaron Ott took top honors in the 25 lap 360/358 MACH 1 Chassis sprint feature. Now that the first battle is history, round two of the Battle at Lincoln is being planned for Wednesday night, June 20.

The Battle at Lincoln will again carry sponsorship support from MACH 1 Chassis, Pioneer Pole Buildings and NAPA Auto Parts. "MACH 1 Chassis is very excited about our Mid-Atlantic Race Series this year. This series has created a lot of buzz and we have had interest from many of the 360 touring series including URC, ESS and the PST," commented Brian Scandle President of MACH 1 Chassis. "We had a great showing at last year's race at Lincoln and are hopeful that this year will bring more teams to the area. We are also excited to have many sponsors supporting the series including Creasy's Signs, Custom Metal Coating, Dave Franek Automotive, Fastener Specialties, Hoosier Tire, Lias Tire, Middlesworth, Moose Blocks, Pancho's Racing Products, Penske Shocks, Rider Racing Engines and Wings Unlimited.

The Battle at Lincoln will again proudly waive the flags of Pioneer Pole Buildings as well as the NAPA Auto Parts. PPB President Bob Greene and Jeff Riling of NAPA Auto Parts have again signed on for this very popular mid-week modified and sprint car doubleheader.

Lincoln Speedway is neutral ground for the modifieds, but you can count on the fact that the drivers learned a lot about the tricky three-eighth mile red clay oval in the initial 60 lap run last year. Ryan Godown would like nothing more then to repeat his win, but opposition is expected to be plentiful from drivers like Danny Johnson, Stewart Friesen, Pat Ward, Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard, Kevin Hirthler Doug Manmiller and Brett Hearn to name a few.

In the MACH 1 Chassis Mid-Atlantic Sprint Car Championship Series event, front runners Aaron Ott, Lance Dewease, Pat Cannon, Mark Smith and Logan Schurhart will be chasing the top prize of $2,500 for the winner. Fifth will pay $1,000, $600 for tenth and a minimum of $250 will be paid just to take the green flag

Gates will open at 5 PM on race night with qualifying taking place at 7:30 PM.

The 2nd Annual Battle at Lincoln event is co-promoted by Bob Miller and Ray Herold. For additional information, please contact Bob Miller at 443 513 4456.

Facility Amenities: Lincoln Speedway is a very popular and "fan friendly" track in the tri-state area, offering great unobstructed viewing from every seat in the grandstands. The infield is open for watching the races by entering through the fourth turn tunnel. The pits are asphalt with a slight elevation and great lighting so fans can watch all the pit action as well. The three-eighth mile Lincoln Speedway offers it all, the high speeds that you would see a the "big tracks" with the flair and excitement of the short track "bull rings". Located in the "Pigeon Hills" of Pennsylvania, Lincoln Speedway has it all.
