THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES

HOUSE OF THUNDER HALLOWEEN PARTY & GRANDVIEW THUNDER 5-25'S. . . .

TRICK OR TREAT REVENGE DRAW TO DETERMINE MODIFIED STARTING LINE-UP SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15 AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series will close out their 2011 season on Saturday night, October 15 with the House of Thunder Halloween Party and Grandview Thunder 5-25's. This features only program has been wildly popular in the past and is expected to live up to every expectation this year. The five division features only program will showcase the 358 Modifieds, URC Sprints, ARDC Midgets, Sportsman and Legends along with the Vince's Towing Legend Owners Race, the Garden State Vintage Cars and a Monster Smash Demolition Derby. The show will all get underway at 6 PM.

An added twist to the show will be the Trick or Treat Revenge Redraw for the modifieds. This is how it works. The modifieds will compete in timed warm-ups to determine the starting line-up that will lead to the Trick or Treat Revenge Redraw. The top eight drivers in times will redraw for the top eight starting positions in the 25 lap feature event. The twist is this, the fast time of the night will be first to draw, the driver then takes his draw number and he must give it to anyone of the other seven drivers. That draw number could be a trick or a treat for the driver receiving that number. Second fast time of the night will be next to draw and he will hand off that number to anyone of the remaining drivers. The draw will continue until all eight numbers are assigned. So in fact, the top eight drivers in times will determine the top eight starting spots. Positions ninth through twenty will line-up according to their times from warm-ups.

Fans have an option to be treated with some hard cash thanks to Jim Gallagher and VERTICAL Wave Telephone Systems. The best costumes of the night will earn $75, $50 and $25 to the best three dressed spectators of the show. So race fans, use your imagination and dress up for the Halloween Party. Palmer Candy of Reading will also be offering plenty of Halloween candy at the front gate as well.

The features only event will begin at 6 PM with the 25 lap Palmer Candy Legends feature followed by the ARDC Midgets, the 10 lap Vince's Towing Legend Owners race and BFP Specialty Sportsman feature. There will be warm-ups for the Modifieds and URC Sprints followed by the 12 lap Vintage Car feature. The nightcap will showcase the $3,000 to win BPG 25 lap 358 Modified feature and the $3,000 to win PPB URC Feature. The homestretch will then transform to be the battleground for the Monster Smash Demolition Derby.

With the new twist of the Trick or Treat Revenge Redraw, it will be very interesting to see how the top eight spots line-up in the feature. So let's think about this. If Craig VonDohren should have fast time of the night and draws the #8 pill, what driver will be tricked and receive the eight starting spot? Better yet, if VonDohren draws the pole. . . . . . which driver will get this treat? A talented field of drivers will make-up the twenty guaranteed starters in the 25 lap BPG $3,000 to win modified feature. Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard, Kevin Hirthler, Mike Gular and Ryan Godown, Doug Manmiller have accepted the invitation to be in this season closing show on the hill. Warm-ups will be very important this year for the modifieds as they'll be racing against the clock to determine their starting position in the feature followed by the Trick or Treat Revenge Redraw to line-up the top eight spots.

URC will have their point championship decided in their twenty-five lap feature that will include four time winner this season JJ Grasso, defending and seven time URC champion Curt Michael, Dave Ely, Kramer Williamson, Ed Aikin, Robbie Stillwaggon and Randy West. The URC feature sponsored by PPB will pay $3,000 but there is more. If the winner is running Viper-Venom fuel and has their decal displayed, an additional $1,000 bonus will go to the winner.

In the BFD Specialty Sportsman field, entries include Mike Loney, Doug Hendricks, Kevin Beach, Jared Umbenhauer, Brad Brightbill, Sammy Piazza and Mike Mammana. The sportsman will also follow the format of timed warm-ups to determine the starting line-up. In the ARDC line-up, expect Steve, Tim and Bruce Buckwalter, Ryan Watt, Eric Heydenreich, Ryan Smith and Brett Arndt. Last by not least, Legend entries include Scott Gobrecht, Harlon Leppo, Tim Henry and Mike Roberts.

More than 120 race cars will fill the Grandview pits for this very unique racing program that will showcase five premier divisions of dirt track racing to close out the season.

Legend Owners are asked to pre-enter the Vince's Towing event by calling Bob Miller at 443-513-4456. Please be sure to provide you name and car number.

It's a big night of racing filled with talented drivers and great racing along with some special trick or treat activities. Race fans are encouraged to dress up for Halloween and join the feature winners in the always joyous victory lane.
