OPEN COMPOTITION MODIFIEDS AND LATE MODELS AT GRANDVIEW SATURDAY SEPT. 24

BIG ENGINES, LITTLE ENGINES, WINGS, SIDE PANELS AND ANYTHING ELSE IS WELCOME AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY SATURDAY

The final regular season Saturday night event at Grandview Speedway this Saturday, September 24th, 7 p.m. should attract the attention of racers and fans since just about everything and anything will be acceptable for the open competition modifieds and late models.
Racers are invited to be creative. If there is a big engine in the garage that has not been used for a while now would be a good time to bring it out.
“It is open competition in both divisions,” said track owner Bruce Rogers. “That means everything and anything, within reason, is accepted. Bring out the big engine, the little engine, the wings, side panels and whatever.”
The end of the season event always has racers being creative and testing some of the ideas they have had in the back of their minds and just have had no opportunity to use those ideas. This will be the time and place to do it. No jet engines please.
A full series of qualifying events will be run in both divisions with a 30-lap feature for the Modifieds and a 20-lap feature for the Late Models. A regular Saturday night purse will be in place for the racers.
Admission for adults will be just $14 while youngsters 11 and under are admitted free.
Spectator gates open at 5 p.m. with racing getting the green at 7 p.m. There is no NASCAR license required.
Then on Sunday, September 25th, 1 p.m. a NEETS Enduro event will be presented featuring a 125 lap event for big cars and a 125 lap race for the small cars. A ladies Enduro will be presented along Vintage car racing. Admission is just $10.
The final racing event of the season is set for Saturday, October 15th at 6 p.m. with the running of the Halloween Party Thunder on the Hill five feature show. There will be 25-lap features, no heat races, for 358 Modifieds, Sportsman, URC sprints, ARDC midgets and Legends cars. In addition a Monster Smash Demo Derby will be presented along with Garden State Vintage Cars and a Vince’s Towing Legends Owners race with Skip Smith looking for his second win of the season.
The annual Racer’s Flea Market happens on Sunday, November 13th at 7 a.m.
Awards to the outstanding performers throughout the season will be presented at the annual Awards Dinner & Dance on Saturday, November 19th at the Gilbertsville, PA Fire Hall.
For fans and racers there are about 50 of the BPG Racing Freedom 76 Program/Yearbooks remaining and will be available on Saturday at $5 each. Loads of color included. In addition back issues of the Grandview Groove will be sold for $1 each. Great for those looking to use the ballots for Most Popular Driver entries.
