PLANS FOR BPG RACING FREEDOM 76 COMING TOGETHER, AUTO GLASS SPECIALTIES FREEDOM FAN FEST SET IN THE AFTERNOON

BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 1, 2011 . . . Plans for the 41st annual BPG Racing Freedom 76 Classic Modified stock car race are coming together with opportunities for lap and event sponsorships filling up.
The race, considered the granddaddy of the major Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic dirt track Modified big dollar events, is set for Saturday, September 17th at Grandview Speedway (Bechtelsville, PA) with racing action getting underway at 7 p.m. Warm-ups get the green at 5:30 p.m. Rain date is Saturday, September 24 following the same schedule of events.
A variety of businesses have signed on to sponsor qualifying events including Dave’s Auto Repair (Boyertown, PA), Hoffman Speed Supplies, Joey Adams Lettering, Bill’s Printing (printers of the Grandview Groove track magazine), Norm’s Save Station (Graterford, PA), Main Racing Engines, Zeigler-Ranalli Development and Stoudt Auto Sales (Reading, PA).
TP Trailers (Limerick, PA) has signed on as the Hard Charger Award sponsor while Beer City of Quakertown, PA will give a case of beer to all qualifying heat race winners. CowpattyNation.com will sponsor a $500 award to the leader at the halfway mark of the race.
The $1,000 to win Cash Dash will be sponsored by Glenn Mertz and will carry the name Mertz Flying Mullet Cash Dash.
Just about a dozen of the 76 laps remain unsponsored. Laps are available for just $10 each with the money going to the leader of each lap chosen. Lap sponsors are listed in the special edition track magazine, on the electronic message board and broadcast on the public address system. Contact Ernie Saxton at 215.752.7797 or Esaxton144@aol.com to get information on lap sponsorship or other marketing opportunities for this classic auto racing event. Special rates are available for advertising in the BPG Freedom 76 Program/Yearbook that is usually a sellout for the fans in the stands.
Fans wanting to be sure they do not miss out on a copy of the special event magazine, sold out last year, can order a copy for just $7.50 (including shipping and handling). The book covers the final point standings, listing of feature winners since the speedway opened, stories on champions and much more. There will be color covers and color center spread. Send $7.50 to cover each book to ESC, Inc. 1448 Hollywood Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047.
Again this year Pete Knappenberger has put together another great Auto Glass Specialties Freedom Fan Fest to take place in the afternoon prior to the BPG Freedom 76 starting at 1 p.m.
During the course of the three hour event there will be kid’s games, race cars on display, autograph opportunities, the Line-X of Lehigh Valley Dunk Tank, Pictures and Merchandise and more. The Johnny Rock-It band will provide music and the RPMPartsonLine.com Driver of the Year award will be presented. All proceeds will go to the Boobie Nation which supports a number of charities.
Adult tickets for the BPG Racing Freedom 76 are priced at $30 while children 6 thru 11 will pay just $10 and kids under 6 are admitted free. Pit passes are priced at $40. No special license is required.
Entry information and entry blanks are available for racers at www.grandviewspeedway.com.
