RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES

JOSH WELLER LANDS RIDE IN PALLADINO MOTORSPORTS #99

"I'm excited about the opportunity to drive the Pat and Kathy Palladino #99", said Josh Weller as he looks ahead to URC's two race weekend at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, August 26 and the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, August 27. Weller, of Mertztown, PA is enjoying a solid season with URC in 2011, scoring one win this season and holding four career URC victories to his credit. Weller's win came on July 2nd when the Rislone URC Sprint Series invaded the New Egypt Speedway. Weller sits fourth in the point chase, trailing Randy West by just seven points. With seven point race events remaining, Weller is 167 points behind URC's seven time champion and current point leader Curt Michael. "The 99 Team remains one of the premier teams in sprint car racing today and it's an honor to be their driver", added Weller.

Weller began his driving career in 1994 driving quarter midgets then moved into the micro-sprints. He was an instant winner and managed to find victory lane at a variety of different tracks. Through that era of his racing career, he earned the name "The Wild Child". Although some may associate that nickname as a driver who is "out of control", in the case of Josh Weller, it really means running of the edge, going fast and heading to the front. When leaving the micro sprints in 2002, Josh had accumulated over one-hundred victories.

In 2003, Weller moved to URC and earned a lot of attention from the outset, going on to be URC's Rookie of the Year. His ability to adjust to different tracks in the micro-sprint ranks, certainly helped him with the many different tracks that URC visits. He has a fondness for the tricky or not so easy tracks, like Grandview and New Jersey's New Egypt Speedway.

Weller certainly has a shot at improving his fourth place ranking in the Rislone URC Drivers point chase. Also on his mind will be trying to earn the URC Owners Title for Team Palladino. The Palladino Motorsports #99 is ranked second in the owner point chase and well within striking distance of the title with seven race dates still on the schedule.

The Weller/Palladino Team will make their first outing at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night, August 26 in a Challenge Race then move on to the Port Royal Speedway on Saturday night, August 27 at the Port Royal Speedway. Weller likes both tracks and is certainly up to the challenge when URC heads to central Pennsylvania.
