THE JERSEY RUSH AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

KNOXVILLE NATIONALS RUNNER-UP HEADS EAST. . . . . .

SHANE STEWART LATEST ENTRY FOR THE JERSEY RUSH, TUESDAY NIGHT, AUGUST 30 AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

Thirty-four year old Shane Stewart of Bixby, OK is the latest entry for the Tuesday night, August 30 JERSEY RUSH for 410 sprint cars at the New Egypt Speedway.

Stewart has been red hot, first winning the 360 Sprint Knoxville Nationals on August 6th then delivering an impressive second place finish in the 410 Sprint Knoxville Nationals on August 13. Stewart will be heading east to the state of New Jersey to chase the $5,000 first place prize up for grabs in the 30 lap JERSEY RUSH for the 410 Sprints. Stewart will be driving the potent Scott McClaren #21 . Earlier this year, Stewart and McClaren teamed-up and won the Jack Gunn Memorial 360/358 Challenge at the Selinsgrove Speedway, so the McClaren team already has an established chemistry with Stewart.

Stewart races all over the country and to date has run forty races, earning eight wins, thirty-one top five finishes and thirty-five top ten's. "This guy is professional in every sense of the word. He runs so many races and visits so many different tracks and just knows how to communicate with the crew on set-ups". McClaren added, "He's a first class act and we're looking forward to the race at New Egypt Speedway".

The Tuesday night, August 30 JERSEY RUSH is billed as a block-buster Doubleheader that will showcase the 410 sprints in their first visit to New Egypt since 2007. Joining the 410 sprints will be the big block modifieds, the weekly premier division at New Egypt. The 410 sprints will compete in time trials, qualifying heats, a "B" main and the $5,000 to win 30 lap feature event. For the big block modifieds, they will run a series of qualifying heats, a consolation and a $3,000 to win 30 lap feature. Gates will open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM. In the event of rain, Wednesday night, August 31 will be the rain date.

Shane Stewart will have plenty of competition including Daryn Pittman of Owasso, OK, Justin Henderson of Sioux Falls, SD, Greg Hodnett of Memphis, TN, Fast Freddie Rahmer of Salfordsville, PA, Lance Dewease of Fayetteville, PA, Todd Shaffer of Millerstown, PA, Doug Esh, Mark Smith, Danny Dietrich, Brent Marks, Frank Cozze, Davey Sammons, JJ Grasso, Curt Michael, Kevin Nouse, Dave Ely, Robbie Stillwaggon and many others.

One driver for sure will be doing double duty in the JERSEY RUSH and that's Billy Pauch of Frenchtown, NJ. Pauch recently scored his 100th career win at the New Egypt Speedway and was the winner of the first ever 410 sprint show at New Egypt back in 1999. Pauch will be driving the J&M Motorsports 55, the same team that scored that first win together at New Egypt.

A Driver & Crew Meet and Greet is being planned by race organizers for fans to get an up close look at the drivers and cars. The Meet & Greet will take place from 5-6 PM. The gate from Victory Lane (behind the turn four seating) to the pit area will open to allow spectators to go pit side for one hour prior to the start of this blockbuster event. Come out early and enjoy a great night of racing.

The big block modifieds will have plenty of talent in the field including invaders Duane Howard and Craig VonDohren along with the weekly favorites that include Rick Laubach, Willie Osmun, David VanHorn, Jimmy Horton, Richie Pratt and Wade Hendrickson.

It's a night of "Double Trouble" when the 410 Sprints and Big Block Modifieds team-up on Tuesday night, August 30.

This event is a co-promotion between Lenny Sammons, his sons and special events organizer Bob Miller.
