NEETS ENDURO SERIES SWINGS BACK INTO ACTION WITH THIRD ANNUAL DIRTSTOCK THIS SUNDAY…By Gary Lileck
Bechtelsville, PA – August 21, 2011 – The North East Enduro Tour Series returns to the 1/3 mile clay banked oval of Grandview Speedway this upcoming Sunday August 28. The third annual DirtStock will take place which features a Big Car 100-lap Enduro (The Spinning Wheel 100) and a 100-lap Small Car Endurance Race (“The Who” Will Win 100). The Vintage Modifieds will compete in a pair of 15-lap exhibition races and the afternoon concludes with a Ladies Race.
The Dirtstock event is race number six of eight in the NEETS point championship battle. A tremendous fight for glory is brewing within the Big and Small Car ranks. Former tour champion Dave Bentley Jr. of Exton PA currently leads the Small Car class by a mere 17 markers over locally based racing talent Pete Wharton of Bally PA. Meanwhile, seasoned veteran Tim Pauch of Stockton NJ holds a 50 point lead over Jason Brown of Schuylkill Haven PA in the Big Car ranks. Pauch is searching for a possible third straight series crown.
The pit area opens this Sunday Aug. 28 for car registration and pre-race technical inspection at 8:00AM. Racing begins promptly at 1:00PM.
The Montgomery County SPCA of Periomenville PA will be on hand this Sunday collecting pet food and supplies for their shelter which is located just a few miles from the speedway. All fans and competitors are asked to participate and help this fine organization. For more information on the Montgomery County SPCA, visit their website located at www.montgomerycountyspca.org .
Three huge enduro events remain at Grandview Speedway (August 28, September 25, and October 16). The series concludes their 2011 season with a pair of events at New Jersey’s Wall Stadium on October 23 and November 27. If you are interested in building a NEETS Enduro car, check the official series website www.neetsracing.com for complete rules and regulations.
