RISLONE URC POINT BATTLE TIGHTENS, URC HEADS NORTH NEXT WEEKEND FOR THE FAST TRACK 360 SPRINT SUMMER SHOOTOUT

It's that time of the year. URC's seven time and defending Rislone Sprint Series Champion Curt Michael is turning up the heat. Hot off his first win of the season on Saturday night at the Lincoln Speedway, he now trails point leader JJ Grasso by just one-hundred points and he's closing. History shows that at mid-season Curt Michael and the team of the Valley Forge Inc 5G build momentum and get strong and there are still a lot of races left on the tour. Also in the chase is Josh Weller of Mertztown, PA who trails Michael by just one-hundred and eight points with Boyertown, PA driver Randy West one point behind Weller. Keep in mind that on any give regular URC event, there are a possible one-hundred and forty points possible if a driver wins his heat and the feature event. With the top four being this close, the title chase is wide one.

On the coming weekend, URC is the sanctioning body for the Fast Track 360 Sprint Summer Shootout to take place at the Rolling Wheels Raceway on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23. This two day event will take place in conjunction with the ESS (Empire Super Sprints) and PST (Patriot Sprint Tour) although all other 360 sprint drivers are welcome to participate.

Time Trials and heat race qualifying will be used to establish the starting field for both nights of racing. On Friday night, $2,000 will go to the winner of 25 lap sprint feature and on Saturday night, the Fast Track Finale will pay $3,000 to the winner. For all the details on this event, please visit the URC website at www.urcsprints.com , go to the competitors page and you should click on 2011 Rolling Wheels 2 day sprint challenge. The payoff, car specifications and the qualifying procedures are posted. A total purse to exceed $32,,000 will be paid for the two day weekend.

Following the Fast Track weekend at Rolling Wheels, the Rislone URC Sprints will return to the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, July 30.

URC's ultimate "big show" of the year will take center stage on Friday night, August 5 at the Williams Grove Speedway for the 6th Annual Rislone Sprint Car Nationals. This prestigious event will pay $5,000 to the winner, $2,500 for second, $1,200 for fifth, $1,000 for tenth and $325 to take the green flag. This event is open to all 360 and 358 sprints. The complete payoff, rules and qualifying procedures are posted on the URC website, on the Competitors Page and under 2011 National Sprint Payoff.

Past winners of the Rislone Nationals include Daryn Pittman (2010), Aaron Ott (2009), Kenny Adams (2008), Ed Aikin (2007) and Pat Cannon in 2006).

The night after the Rislone Nationals, Saturday, August 6th, the URC Sprints will be in action on the five-eighth mile Bridgeport Speedway in Bridgeport, NJ.

Another two day weekend will follow for URC with stop at the Big Diamond Raceway on Friday night, August 12 and a return visit to the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday, August 13.
