410 SPRINT & 358 MODIFIEDS HEADLING HISTORIC 100TH NAPA AUTO PARTS THUNDER ON THE HILL RACING SERIES EVENT TUESDAY, JUNE 28 AT GRANDVIEW

The historic 100th event of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series will unfold at the Grandview Speedway next Tuesday night. The featured divisions will be the wildly popular 410 sprints joined by the weekly crowd pleasing 358 Modifieds. It's only fitting that these two divisions make-up the anticipated 100th event in Thunder on the Hill history. It was the 410 sprints that were first showcased in August of 1990 during the first running of Thunder on the Hill. As years went on, the popular 358 Modifieds made their share of visits in this popular mid-week racing series at the Bechtelsville, PA one-third mile oval. Thunder on the Hill is a co-promotion between Grandview Speedway track owner Bruce Rogers and long time racing publicist Bob Miller. Including the June 28th event, the series will pay out a total of $3,345,000 to the competitors who took part in the one-hindered race series.

In celebration of the one-hundredth event, the admission price for this high profile event will be just $20 for adults, $5 for children 6-11 and children under the age of six will be admitted for free. The pit fee will be $25 and a license is not required.

Only at Grandview Speedway will fans have a chance to see the 410 sprints and modifieds on a double header program. Brian Leppo of Spring City, PA score his first Thunder will at Grandview in May, beating out Fast Freddie Rahmer in a wheel-banging move off of turn four. Leppo earned $5,000 for the win. The Tuesday night, June 28 event will be part of the Pennsylvania Sprint Speed Week Series with the 35 lap feature event again paying $5,000 to the winner. The Leppo and Rahmer battle is expected to continue will challenges from Lance Dewease, Tyler Walker, Greg Hodnett, Steve Smith, Brian Montieth, Mark Smith and Daryn Pittman to name a few.

In the 358 Modifieds, look for the red battle to continue between Jeff Strunk and Mike Gular. Strunk won the Thunder Modified feature in May, his first Thunder win in five years. Mike Gular offer a battle to the wire and he has a strong history of outstanding runs in the Thunder on the Hill events. Billy Pauch, Ryan Godown, Doug Manmiller, Duane Howard, Billy Pauch Jr and Rick Laubach are among the expected 358 modified entries.
