DAVE HAHN RACING SALUTES HELLERTOWN AUTO PARTS

For close to thirty-five years, Green Lane, PA's Dave Hahn has been racing the dirt tracks of Pennsylvania, but in 2011, his familiar 2H has seen only limited action. In fact, they have only participated in one event all season. The team is not absent from the racing scene because of a lack of interest, but a severe health issue that has struck Dave's older brother, Jerry Hahn of Springtown, PA.

Jerry is a key member of the race team, attending most if not every race that Dave has competed in. From his days in a stock car, to his current ride in a 410 sprint car, Jerry has been there, in the garage and at the track. Late in 2010, a medical issue required that Jerry's right eye be removed. Jerry made it through the procedure and was coming back strong, when he experienced still another medical set-back. As a result, the familiar yellow and red 2H will continue to miss racing events, including the 100th NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill event on Tuesday night at the Grandview Speedway. Dave and Jerry were at the first Thunder event and made almost every Thunder show up until 2011.

In fact, Dave and Jerry recall one night, arriving at Grandview and in the process of getting ready for warm-ups, they realized that Dave left some of his key racing equipment back at the garage. Dave informed Thunder Series organizer Bob Miller that they could not race that night. Miller quickly tossed Dave the keys to his personal car and said, "run home and get what you need". Dave did exactly that and did race that night.

Throughout the long racing career of Dave Hahn, Hellertown Auto Parts at 900 Front Street in Hellertown, PA has been a loyal sponsor. Under the ownership of Jack and Minga Ferenain, their Hellertown business has enjoyed a long ride with Hahn Racing, including Dave's one and only big win at the Port Royal Speedway in 1997. Dave and Jerry Hahn are both very appreciative of the support from Hellertown Auto Parts over the years.

For the record, Dave Hahn and Race Team will be back in racing action, but for now, they are supporting Jerry Hahn through his medical recovery.
