Busy Stretch of Racing On Deck for Big Diamond Speedway; Friday, Sunday & Wednesday To Feature On-Track Activity In God's Country
MINERSVILLE, PA - Big Diamond Speedway is set for a busy stretch of events in the coming days.
It all begins at the Minersville, Pa., oval this Friday (June 17) with a full program of The Station House 358-Modifieds (qualifying and 25-lap feature), U.S.S. Achey Sportsman (qualifying and 20-lap feature) and Wooden Keg Tavern Roadrunners (qualifying and 20-lap feature). Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 7:55 p.m. and the first heat at 8:15 p.m.
Grandstand admission is $13 (Adults), $10 (Seniors & Military), $5 (Kids 6-12) and FREE for those five years of age and under. Pit admission for members is $25 and $35 for non-members.
The 358-Modified championship battle is in full swing with just 63 points separating the top five. Veteran Ray Swinehart of Perkiomenville, Pa., leads with 1683 points over Keith Hoffman of Whitehall, Pa. (1655), Rick Laubach of Quakertown, Pa. (1636), Craig Von Dohren of Boyertown, Pa. (1629) and Jeff Strunk of Bechtelsville, Pa. (1620).
Past champion Kevin Beach Jr. of Llewellyn, Pa., tops the Sportsman points over Jared Umbenhauer (Richland, Pa.), while Ryan Olenick leads 2010 title winner Elvin Brennan III in the Roadrunner ranks by 30 points.

On Sunday (June 19), the second round of the Dan Drobnick Welding Enduro Series is set with Big Cars (6/8-Cylinder), Small Cars (4-Cylinder) and Ladies in action at 5 p.m. There will be a point fund paid for Enduro competitors this season. Registration is underway now on the speedway website. A Test and Tune will precede the Enduro at 2 p.m. Grandstand admission is $7 and pit entry is $20.
For Sunday's program, pit gates will open at noon and grandstand gates swing open at 1 p.m.

BD Motorsports Media brings the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour to Big Diamond Speedway on Wednesday, June 22 with the 'Anthracite Assault' 60-lap event: the first RoC race at Big Diamond since July 2006. The RoC Modified winner will now receive $5,000, should they take the $20 "gambler's challenge" thanks to recently announced sponsor Small Engine Fuel (SEF).
Modified stars from Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Delaware, in addition to Ontario, Canada, converge on the Schuylkill County oval, joined by Race of Champions Sportsman (30 laps, $1,200 to the winner) and XCel 600 Modifieds (20 laps). Race time is 7:30 p.m. Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. Grandstand gates open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are planned for 7 p.m. Grandstand admission is $20 for Adults, $15 for Seniors/Military, $5 for Kids 6-12 and FREE for those under the age of five. Pit admission is $30 with no license required.

Racing returns on Friday, June 24 with Hoysock Landscaping-sponsored Twin 15s, 'Full Fender Frenzy' for the Roadrunners along with 358-Modifieds and Sportsman at 8:15 p.m.
