RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES

TAYLOR & MESSICK DELAWARE SPRINT SERIES VISITS GEORGETOWN SUNDAY NIGHT,
JJ GRASSO TOPS ALL WITH IMPRESSIVE RUN FOR SECOND WIN  IN 2011 AND EIGHTEENTH CAREER RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES WIN

JJ Grasso, also known  as the "Jersey Jet" lived up to his name Sunday night at the Georgetown Speedway in the sixth event of the Rislone URC Sprint Series.  Grasso unleashed the BK Leasing Palladino Motorsports sprint car, taking the lead from Robbie Stillwaggon on lap seven.   Once on top, Grasso was never challenged winning his second URC event of the season and his eighteenth career win.   Grasso also won his heat race and his strong performance will further pad his point lead in chase of the Rislone URC Championship honors.

Three heat race events were presented with victories going to Robbie Stillwaggon, JJ Grasso and Jonathan Swanson and Joe Zuczek won the "B" Main.

Stillwaggon and Grasso started on the front row of the twenty-five lap Rislone URC Sprint Feature and at the drop of the green, Stillwaggon  out gunned Grasso to take the lead.   Stillwaggon and Grasso battled for the lead for several laps, with Grasso taking the lead on lap seven.   The caution was  then displayed for Steve Whary who came  to a stop in turn four.

On the restart, Grasso once again ran to hide from the field with Stillwaggon a solid second followed by Ed Aiken, Becca Anderson and Davie Franek.   Steering problems forced Becca Anderson to slow and Randy West moved into the top five.

At the halfway park, Grasso, Stillwaggon, Aiken, Franek and West were the top five.   Seven time URC Champion Curt Michael started deep in the pack, but he was charging to the front, now racing in the top ten.   A close battle was forming for third between Davie Franek and  Ed Aiken.

In the closing laps, Grasso remained the pace setter and ran unchallenged to the checker flag.   Stillwaggon captured second with a very strong run as Ed Aikin finished third with Davie "No Panic" Franek fourth and Randy West  finishing fifth.
