NEWS FROM: RISLONE URC SPRINT SERIES



CHOICE HOTELS RETURN AS ASSOCIATE SPONSOR OF URC IN 2011



The countdown is underway for the Rislone URC Sprint Series opener that will take place at the Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday night, April 9. The Rislone URC Sprints will be the headline division joined by the Bridgeport Modifieds and Outlaw Stocks. The first green flag will fall at 6 PM. For URC, this will mark the start of their 64th season. Race fans and competitors as well should take advantage of the popular program offered by Choice Hotels. The Choice Hotel chain includes Clarion, Comfort, Quality, Sleep Inn & Main Stay Hotels as the official hotel of the United Racing Company.

URC continues their long running excellent working relationship with the management of Bridgeport Speedway. Under the leadership of Jay James, URC will have three race dates at the always fast, five-eighth mile Bridgeport Speedway. URC will open their season at Bridgeport on Saturday, April 9 with following stops on July 9 and August 6. Jay James who also runs the Georgetown Speedway in Georgetown, DE has three URC dates at that speedway as well, with dates set for May 29, July 1 and September 4.



Following the URC opener, the Rislone URC Sprint Series will invade the Delaware International Speedway on Saturday night, April 16. URC will also make a return visit to the Black Rock Speedway on Saturday night, May 7. The following week, URC will be the sanctioning body for the Jack Gunn Memorial at the Selinsgrove Speedway on Saturday night, May 14. URC will close out the month of May with a two race weekend on Saturday night, May 28 at the Delaware International Speedway with a visit the following night, Sunday, May 29 at the Georgetown Speedway.



Competition is expected to be strong once again as Curt Michael and car owner Bill Gallagher chase still another URC Championship, defending their 2010 title. JJ Grasso and the Palladino Motorsports Team will be in the title hunt as well and don't count out Josh Weller, who delivered the strongest run of his career in 2010. Returning to URC action this year is Ed Aikin of Lincoln University, PA. Aikin is a four time winner with URC and former winner of the Williams Grove Rislone Nationals, URC's most prestigious race on the tour. Also making a return to URC will be Jason Clauss of Boyertown, PA, also the owner of four URC career wins.



Kramer Williamson of Palmyra, PA is gearing up for a big season with some additional sponsorship support as well as an expanded pit crew. Watch for big things to come from Robbie Stillwaggon in the coming season as well as Becca Anderson, Bill Unglert, Mark Bitner, Jonathan Swanson, Randy West, Ed Wagner, Art Liedl, Andy Best and Kevin Darling just to name a few. 305 Sprint Driver Steve Whary of Lebanon, PA will be making his rookie start with URC in chase of the URC Rookie of the Year title.
