CABIN FEVER BRINGS OUT THE STARS FROM NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY TO HIGHLIGHT WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT 4TH ANNUAL IRCO CREDIT UNION DIRT TRACK HEROES CAR SHOW

The fourth day of the week long 4th Annual IRCO Credit Union Dirt Track Heroes Show presented by NAPA Auto Parts of the Delaware Valley continued on Wednesday evening and momentum grew as the night unfolded enjoying another solid outing as the stars from the New Egypt were highlighted in the two hour show that ended just as the Mall was closing. The noted broadcasting team of Ed and Steve Pados along with Borgers Speedway announcer Bobby Stull conducted twenty interviews with drivers and promoters on an evening headed up by the sponsorship from the EZ Release Pro Shop that is soon to open in the Phillipsburg, New Jersey area. The IRCO Community Federal Credit Union that serves as the official sponsor for the great Mall show took center stage and once again kicked off the evening's activities as Greg Collins, the Vice President of the IRCO Group, who is also well noted as the official Harmony Speedway Historian, thanked all of the drivers and teams for coming out to enjoy the show and for taking part in the annual event that has seen 141 race cars of all types line the Mall corridors for this week long event that highlights the past, present and future of racing.

The show kicked off with Mike Odwazny from the Mountain Speedway and his new NE Modified Series talking about how his new series came about and what is planned for the first season of a proposed six race schedule. Mountain Speedway has jumped on board for the new series and Odwazny is talking with many additional speedways and hopes to complete the schedule in the next couple of weeks. David Polenz, the gifted Garden State product that does his racing in the State of Virginia at Old Dominion Speedway, made his first appearance of the week at the show and chatted about his great season in the Late Model ranks as he raced to a second place finish in the points last season and has set the track title as his goal for the new 2011 racing season. Polenz also talked about some great new sponsorship that has come his way in the form of On The Run Convenience Stores and Gaz-zu energy drink. Frank Cozze Jr, Gary Butler, Ron Jon Kozcon, Mike Hendershot, David Van Horn, Bryan Kuhl, Mike Barone, Willie Osmun, Jimmy Houseworth, and two-time New Egypt Speedway champion Rick Laubach all talked about the great racing at the speedway and how the new influx of Modified talent coming their way from the Bridgeport Speedway will require them to wear their belts even tighter than ever before.

Northeast Modified Legend Tommy Hager was on hand to talk about his racing experiences all over the Northeast with references made about the racing in the past at New Egypt. Gifted Photographer Ace Lane Jr was on hand and gave an emotional interview as he talked about how he traveled with his Dad to the many race tracks in the area that have now disappeared from the current landscape. Bill Miscoski, the New Egypt Speedway Promoter was on hand to discuss the 2011 opener at his speedway that will open three weeks earlier than ever before as the ROC Cabin Fever event will open the speedway on March 26th with a $10,000.00 prize awaiting the driver who figures out the fast way around the tricky 7/16 mile raceway. Miscoski is excited about the new 2011season as he enters his sixth at the helm and his enthusiasm spilled over as he talked about the big season ahead that will include a visit from the USAC wingless 410 racers that saw Tony Stewart's driver Levi Jones capture the initial outing in 2010.

The show will continue through Saturday night, March 12 and the Thursday evening stage show will be sponsored by Mo Pagni's Outten Used Car Center located at 1902 South Fourth Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania with a phone number of: 610 791 7912 to call for any questions anyone night have in regards to the purchase of a quality used car. Mo has his completely re-crafted Silver Crown car "The Spirit of Nazareth" located in the former Finish Line Store that has served as the headquarters for this years nightly stage shows. The Phillipsburg Mall is conveniently located on Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, NJ and has been the home base for the Dirt Track Heroes show for the fourth consecutive year. The schedule on Thursday will highlight the many top notch drivers who make up the great rosters of the Hamlin Speedway and the Accord Speedway and complimented by the first ever Lake Mocatek Speedway Reunion that is certain to be a hit with the fans who followed the racing at the now shuttered speedway..

The show hours on Thursday are 6 to 9 PM. All historical racing groups including Reading, Flemington, Harmony, Dorney Park and Nazareth have their vast memorabilia collections on display and their scrapbooks wide open for the fans to take another long look at the glory years of racing and possibly find a picture or two they want to purchase as a keepsake of past glory or racing exploits.

All racing divisions are well represented at the show and include big and small block Modifieds, Sportsman, Micro-Sprints, ARDC Midgets, URC Sprints, TSRS Sprints, Late Models, go-karts and a broad variety of vintage and restored race cars. Several race tracks will use this event as an opportunity to get the word out on their up-coming 2011 racing season.

For the fourth consecutive year, CARQUEST Gasoline Alley and the Pados Brothers will host the nightly events and interviews along with some guest announcers. Bobby Stull and Justin Beltrame have signed on to play a part in the show.

The IRCO Dirt Track Heroes Car Show will again offer a great keepsake event souvenir program book and shirt. Included in the program are stories regarding Richard Marinelli, Carl "Fuzzy" Van Horn, Bill Wimble and the origin of the CARQUEST Gasoline Alley Show. The Phillipsburg Mall is open Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM; Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 9 PM.
