VP Racing Fuels Signs On As Title Sponsor of 2011 Short Track Four Crown, Joins Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. As Lead Backer Of Four-Race Series
BOYERTOWN, PA - VP Racing Fuels is committed to the sport of dirt Modified racing.
The "World Leader in Race Fuel Technology" has signed on as a title sponsor of the Short Track Four Crown series of events co-promoted by BD Motorsports Media in 2011. VP Racing Fuels joins Pioneer Pole Buildings Inc. as a leading backer of the four-race series. Short Track Four Crown events are scheduled for Penn Can Speedway in Susquehanna, Pa. and Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, N.Y.
Already established in the DIRTcar NorthEast Modified community, VP Racing Fuels views the Short Track Four Crown as another avenue to establish its commitment in another niche of the dirt Modified landscape.
"We are looking to be involved in all forms of racing," offered Jim Kelly, Corporate Director of Sales & Marketing for VP. "The Short Track Four Crown presented us with opportunities to work with another group of Modified racers and fans we hadn't reached before."
Kelly said the numbers and quality of drivers in past BD Motorsports Media events appealed to VP. The three big-block/small-block Modified events co-promoted by BD Motorsports Media last year attracted a staggering 150 total entries.
"Our aim is to give all racers access to our very popular oval track fuel formulas and to the technical support and development Freddie Turza and the other engine builder/tuners we have on our staff can provide. The VP marketing partnership will reward teams with product giveaways during the four races during the season.

The Short Track Four Crown kicks off Tuesday, June 7 at Penn Can with the 'Clash at the Can' event paying $8,000 to the winner for 60 laps - the most lucrative payday in the speedway's history. Other Penn Can Short Track Four Crown events include the 'Hot Summer Night' paying $5,000 to the winner for 60 laps Tuesday, Aug. 9 and the famed King of the Can offering a $5,000 winner's share for 50 laps in October.
The "Working Man's Race" Short Track SuperNationals is set for its fourth running at the historic Five Mile Point Speedway on Oct. 8. The SuperNationals has attrached 72 and 70 Modifieds, respectively, in its last two runnings.
The 'Clash at the Can' and 'Hot Summer Night' events offer points toward the 2011 Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour title fight. The final two Short Track Four Crown events run unsanctioned.
Drivers entering all four Short Track Four Crown events have the opportunity to collect a growing number of contingency awards at year end.
2010 BD Motorsports Media event winners were Duane Howard (Clash at the Can), Stewart Friesen (Hot Summer Night) and Justin Holland (Short Track SuperNationals).
VP Racing Fuels plans a presence at the Racing Legends Reunion & Car Show at the Fairgrounds Square Mall of Reading, Pa., beginning this weekend (Feb. 20-26). VP joins the Reading Eagle and WEEU 830 AM as a prominent sponsor of the weeklong event, which will feature more than 100 race cars on display, nightly activities, interviews, autographs, collectibles and vendors.
