GRANDVIEW HAS TV COVERAGE FOR 11TH CONSECUTIVE SEASON
BECHTELSVILLE, PA February 4, 2011 . . . Close to 25% of the Saturday night NASCAR stock car racing schedule at Grandview Speedway will be shown on RCN-TV in the Lehigh Valley, PA and surrounding areas. The 2011 schedule of TV coverage will mark the 11th consecutive year that RCN-TV has carried taped coverage of a select schedule of Saturday night events at the Berks County banked clay oval.
“The TV coverage is a big plus for our racers as it gives them something extra to offer their sponsors,” said track owner Bruce Rogers. “With sponsorship being so difficult to secure during these difficult economic times the addition of TV coverage, giving sponsors coverage to the thousands of people that tune in with RCN-TV, gives the racers some more ammunition in their sponsorship marketing efforts.”
All of the shows are approximately two hours in length and include highlights from events run that were not televised. Coverage includes all the qualifying heats and features on race night. The tape delayed coverage is shown on the Tuesday following the actual running of the event and then three more times prior to the next televised event.
Fans get news, information, highlights, recaps on local action, point standings, feature winner interviews, instant replay and much more.
The TV schedule will kick off with the April 9th events that will include a 40-lap feature for the NASCAR 358 Modifieds plus the Late Models. Up next will be the May 7th doubleheader with Modifieds and Late Models. The United Racing Company sprint cars will be featured in the June 11 taping that will also include the NASCAR 358 Modifieds.
The July 2nd coverage will include the annual C.J.High & Associates LLC Firecracker 40 for Late Models plus the 358 Modifieds. And on July 23rd the Modifieds and Late Models will be featured. The final event of the season to have RCN-TV coverage will be the classic Forrest Rogers Memorial presented by Pioneer Pole Buildings on Saturday, August 13th. That event pays $10,000 to win and attracts a star studded field of Modified racers. Late Model stocks are also part of that special evening.
Noted racing writer Randy Kane will head up the broadcast team with Mike Feltenberger, host of the BCTV “Strapped In” TV show, sharing the booth duties.

The 49th consecutive season of NASCAR stock car racing kicks off on Saturday, March 26th at noon with the annual free-to-the-public practice session. The chase for the lucrative NASCAR and track provided point funds gets the green on Saturday, April 2nd at 7 p.m.
On Sunday, April 3, 2 p.m. the NEETS Enduro racers will kick off their schedule of events for the 2011 season.
