Fairlane Village Mall Show To Serve As Huge Kickoff To Big Diamond Speedway 2011 Season; Driver Interviews & Best of Show Presentation Planned For Friday, March 11
MINERSVILLE, PA - The upcoming race car show at the Fairlane Village Mall will kick off the 2011 Big Diamond Speedway season in a big way!
After an absence of several years, racing vehicles of all shapes and sizes return to the to the Pottsville, Pa., shopping center for March 7-12, 2011. The show's comeback has been well received by the racing faithful in Schuylkill County and the surrounding areas.
The Fairlane Village Mall, "Where Schuylkill County Shops," is located in close proximity to Big Diamond Speedway and its local race teams. The return of the Big Diamond Race Car Show provides a great opportunity for Big D competitors to promote their sponsors and home track.
Registration for the show, organized by BD Motorsports Media, has been brisk. Drivers from each of Big Diamond's three weekly divisions - The Station House 358-Modifieds. U.S.S. Achey/Achey's Used Auto Parts Sportsman and Wooden Keg Tavern Roadrunners - will be well represented.
Among those planning to participate are the 358-Modifieds of Billy Pauch Jr., John Willman, Kevin Albert Jr. (two cars), Dale Hartz, Colt Harris and others. Former Big Diamond champions Craig Whitmoyer and Kevin Beach lead the Sportsman contingent that includes Daryl Dissinger, Jordan Dreher, Mike Lisowski, Tim Fitzpatrick, Charlie Webber and more.
The Olenick brothers, Ryan and Kevin, plan to display their Roadrunner vehicles along with Ed Kuperavage, T.J. Fitzpatrick and Joey Brennan.
Driver interviews are scheduled for the center court stage on Friday night (March 11) beginning at 7:30 p.m. The 'Best of Show' trophy will also be presented that night.
All race cars are welcome to participate in the show. It is not limited to cars competing at Big Diamond during the year. Race team move-in will be Sunday, March 6 at 5 p.m., with move-out Sunday, March 13 at 9:30 a.m. Registration, at $25 per car, is open now at http://www.bdmotorsportsmedia.com/. Space is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Big Diamond Speedway opens its 39th season Sunday, April 3 at 5 p.m. with a 35-lap 358-Modified feature paying $3,000 to the winner plus Sportsman and Roadrunners. An open practice is set for March 27. The speedway is on the web at http://www.bigdiamondspeedway.net/.
