358 MODIFIED RULE CHANGES AND ADDITIONAL LATE MODEL CHANGES FOR GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY RACERS

BECHTELSVILLE, PA January 27, 2011 . . . Grandview Speedway management continues to move toward the start of the 49th consecutive season of professional stock car racing with additional changes being made in rules/specs for the NASCAR sanctioned 358 Modified and Late Model stock car racing.

Late Models will be free to run any shocks with the new open shock rule.

American Racer tires will be the tire of choice for Late Model racers as it is for the 358 Modifieds. Visiting racers will be required to use American Racer tires but will be given a grace period to use the American Racer tires they currently have before switching to the American Racer tire carrying the Grandview stamp.

The recently announced rule pertaining to Crate Late Models being allowed to race at Grandview was meant to cover just Crate Late Models 1 and 2.

In the NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified division DIRT spec 358 modifieds will be allowed but will be required to use a 750 Holley carburetor running on gas and will be given a 50 pound weight break.

Race teams choosing to run the 9 to 1 cast iron motors in 358 Modified competition will be given a 50 pound break.

Once again Late Model and Modified teams are reminded that a Halon on board Fire System with a nozzle that is within reach of the driver is mandatory.

All the rule/spec changes can be found at www.grandviewspeedway.com in the rules section. All competitors planning to race at Grandview Speedway should make themselves aware of all the rules in place at the Berks County clay oval.

The 2011 season will kick off on Saturday, March 26 at 12 noon with a free-to-the-public practice open to all divisions of racing.

Officially the chase for the lucrative NASCAR sanctioned track championship will get the green on Saturday, April 2nd at 7 p.m. with a doubleheader show of 358 Modifieds and Late Models.

The NEETS Enduro season will kick on Sunday, April 3 at 2 p.m.
