BUCKWALTER BEATS BUCKWALTER AT SSP ON SATURDAYS J&K SALVAGE CANDY BOWL

Buckwalter Beats Buckwalter at SSP on Saturday’s J&K Salvage Candy Bowl

Newberrytown, PA (October 30, 2010) – The 6th Annual Candy Bowl at the Susquehanna Speedway Park presented by J&K Salvage of York on Saturday, October 30 found Bruce Buckwalter Jr. of Royersford winning the 20-lap wingless ARDC Midgets by holding off a hard charging Steve Buckwalter and Billy Pauch Jr. Heath Henley became the sixth different 600cc Micro Sprints Candy Bowl winner by claiming the 20-lap feature event. Henley adds his name along with the likes of Cody Darrah, Ben Murphy, Brent Marks, Jimmy Brookens and Shane Lewis, all previous Micro Sprint Candy Bowl victors.

Sam Gallagher Jr. became a three-time Candy Bowl winner by claiming the 25-lap Byers Tires Thundercars main event. Scott Gobrecht picked up his first career SSP victory by winning the 20-lap Legends Cars feature event. York Haven’s Daryl Sipe picked up the 12-lap Mini Van Feature also collecting his third Candy Bowl victory.

Before the midget feature began, the cars and drivers in all divisions were brought to the frontstretch for the large crowd of children in costumes to trick or treat. This was also a great opportunity for everyone to visit their favorite drivers to get pictures and autographs.

This was the first time since the inaugural event in 2005 that the Candy Bowl was not postponed to a different date due to rain.

The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. For more information, contact the speedway offices at (717) 292-1696 or visit online at sspracing.net. On raceday, use the track phone at (717) 938-9170 for up-to-date information at the “Big Track” and (717) 932-1608 for the “Outback Track.”
