FAN APPRECIATION NIGHT FEATURES STEEL BLOCK BANDIT LATE MODELS AGAINST GRANDVIEW REGULARS PLUS SPORTSMAN

Fan appreciation night offers low cost tickets for adults and kids

BECHTELSVILLE, PA July 28, 2010 . . . The traveling Steel Block Bandit Late Models will pit their skills against the regular Grandview Speedway Late Models on Saturday, July 31st at the one-third-mile, banked clay speedway with racing action getting the green at 7:30 p.m.

The doubleheader racing show will also feature the Sportsman stock cars as part of the Fan Appreciation Night which will offer adult tickets for $10 and kids, 6 thru 11, admitted for just $3. As is normal at Grandview children under 6 are admitted free.

The Steel Block Bandit Late Models, seen in action in Virginia, Maryland, Western Pennsylvania, will be making their first appearance in this area. A Meet and Greet will be held for fans from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.. The Meet and Greet will give fans a chance to get acquainted with Steel Block Bandit racers such as Walker Arthur, Bruce Kane, Joey Leavell, Gerald Davis, Daniel Brown Jr., Jonathan Dehaven, Andy Fries, Lou Littlepage and others that are expected to be on hand.

Late Model racers will race in a 40-lap feature event after a full series of qualifying events. The feature will pay $2,000 to win making it a very lucrative opportunity for the local racing talents such as Randy Stoudt, Chuck Schutz, Ron Kline and others.

Heading up the Steel Block Bandits will be Gilbertsville, PA’s Kyle Merkel who is currently in the top five in the organization’s point standings. Many of the top talents in the Steel Block Bandit’s traveling organization will be on hand.

Brad Brightbill will be trying for his second Sportsman win in a row at Grandview Speedway.

Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. with racing scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

Coming up on Sunday, August 1st at 2 p.m. will be a doubleheader show of NEETS Enduros and SpeedSTRs.

The Mavericks Motorcycle organization will be sponsoring the Saturday, August 7th event which will feature the NASCAR 358 Modifieds and Late Models. This will be a charity fund raiser for the Mavericks group as they will have the Alex’s Lemonade stand in operation in an effort to raise funds for the battle against cancer.

Then on Saturday, August 14th the annual Forrest Rogers Memorial, run in memory of the man who built the speedway, will be presented with $10,000 going to the winner of the Classic NASCAR 358 Modified race. The Late Models will also be seen in action.
