Kutztown Fair Speedway Full Results 7/28/10

Kyle Reinhardt Thwarts All Challenges For Kutztown 600cc Micro Win; Ryan Smith, Brad Arnold, Travis Bieber & T.J. Lilly Also Post Victories

KUTZTOWN, PA - Kyle Reinhardt had to wait a while for this one.

Reinhardt, who took over the lead on the first lap of Wednesday night's 20-lap wingless 600cc Micro-Sprint feature at the Fairgrounds at Kutztown Speedway, survived a half-dozen cautions and a red flag one lap shy of the finish to post his first victory of the season at the one-fifth-mile clay oval.

Reinhardt, of Neptune City, N.J., started second and drove by Joe Kay to take command on the opening circuit. Sixth-starter Ryan Smith, meanwhile, powered into second spot by lap six and used the extreme outside lane to pressure Reinhardt heavily lap after lap.

Ultimately, Smith's high-lane advances cost him the runner-up spot. Brett Arndt, who started fifth, ducked to the inside of Smith exiting the fourth turn to complete lap 15.

Arndt's Greth Racing No. 71 followed Reinhardt to the finish by less than a car-length following a lap-19 red for Doug Snyder's frontstretch flip (Snyder was not injured). Smith was third, followed by eighth-starter Jeff Hartman and Brian Carber, who started ninth.

The 600Scene.com Hard Charger was Brett Michalski, who drove from 21st to ninth in the main.

A 12th-place starting spot didn't deter Ryan Smith from victory in the 20-lap 270cc Micro-Sprint headliner. Kunkletown, Pa.'s Smith worked by race-long leader Trevor Kobylarz at the exit of turn two with five laps remaining.

Kobylarz had started from the pole and previously relinquished the top spot momentarily to Jay Hartman on lap 11.

Seconds after taking the lead, Hartman's No. 24 was swept into a multi-car incident in lapped traffic.

Ross Perchak, up from sixth, made a last-lap pass of Kobylarz for second. Richie Hartman raced from 10th to fourth and Tom Schearer completed the front five.

Brad Arnold of Reading, Pa., led from start-to-finish in the Slingshot 20-lap feature. Arnold's only serious challenge came in the final laps via Kurt Bettler, who finished runner-up. After a three-wide scramble on the final lap, Pete Knappenberger was third, followed by Marc Daniels and Joe Nemeth.

The 20-lap heldover Checkered Flag Fan Club Slingshot feature from July 21 went to Travis Bieber of Oley, Pa. J.R. Fulper ran within striking distance to place second, followed by Joe Nemeth, Jan Acker and Arnold.

T.J. Lilly fought off A.J. Gerhart to win the 20-lap Junior Slingshot feature.

Racing resumes next Wednesday (Aug. 4) with a full program of wingless 600cc Micro-Sprints, 270cc Micro-Sprints, Slingshots and Junior Slingshots plus the heldover 20-lap 270cc Micro-Sprint feature from July 21.
