MODS AND LATE MODELS CONTINUE POINT BATTLES AT GRANDVIEW, ARDC MIDGETS COMING ON MAY 15
SPECIAL PROMO NIGHT AT L.V. GRAND PRIX
BECHTELSVILLE, PA May 7, 2010 . . . Another great action packed doubleheader show featuring the NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modifieds along with the always exciting Late Models will be the attraction at Grandview Speedway on Saturday, May 8. The Auto Locator Night will get the green flag at 7:30 p.m. with spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m.
A tight battle for the Modified point championship will continue with Duane Howard as the point leader being chased by eight time track champion Jeff Strunk and hot shoe Ryan Godown. The Modifieds have the opportunity to earn NASCAR point money, track point money and American Racing Tire East Coast Modified Cup point money.
In the Late Models Randy Stoudt, the winningest driver in Late Model competition amongst active drivers, is ahead of defending champion Brian Shuey in the chase for that title.
The NEETS Enduro racers will be in action on Mother’s Day (May 9) at 2 p.m. along with the open cockpit action of the SpeedSTRs.
American Racing Drivers Club Wingless Midgets will headline the action on Saturday, May 15th at 7:30 p.m. The SpeedSTRs will be part of the tripleheader show that also includes the NASCAR 358 Modifieds. Adult admission for the tripleheader will be $20 while youngsters 6 thru 11 pay just $5 and kids under 6 are admitted FREE. Members of the military in uniform are admitted FREE. The Late Model stock cars will not be part of that show.
Later in the season the Late Models will have another special event added to make up for the loss of the May 15th show. Details on that special are still to be finalized.
The Late Models have already had the Topless Truckin’ 20 that carried a purse that was about 50% higher than their usual Saturday night show. On June 19th Late Models will be part of a Memorial Night that will increase their payoff. The big event of the season for the Late Models happens on July 3rd with the running of the annual Firecracker 40. Kory Fleming and his sponsors will be giving away four bicycles to lucky youngsters that night.
WNPV-1440 AM Radio will sponsor the July 17th doubleheader with the Modifieds and Late Models with the Late Models getting some extra money added for that event.
On July 31st the Late Models will again be in the limelight as the Modifieds get a night off and the Steel Block Bandit Late Models will race in a 40-lap main event. Sportsman stock cars will also be part of that show.
The 2010 season at Grandview Speedway for Late Models has a lot of special events included and makes for an exciting season for the always exciting Late Models.
Thursday, May 13th will kick off a special promotion at the Lehigh Valley Grand Prix in Allentown, PA. Modified drivers Brad Missimer and Kevin Albert Jr. along with Late Model racer Kory Fleming will be signing autographs at 6 p.m. followed by actual kart racing at the indoor facility.
