40-LAP NASCAR MOD RACE TO PAY $4,000 TO WIN ON APRIL 10TH AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY

BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 31, 2010 . . . It just keeps getting better and better for racers at Grandview Speedway.

Management of the NASCAR sanctioned one-third-mile, banked clay oval told Modified racers last week that the purse would increase for all the regular events this season. The increase would go to the racers finishing sixth and on back in the feature events.

Now track owner Bruce Rogers has announced that the 40-lap feature, an increase of 10 laps over the regular Saturday night feature, for NASCAR Modifieds scheduled for Saturday, April 10th will offer $4,000 to win. That is a $1,000 increase over the 2009 event.

In the past the 40-lapper had been run on opening night but this year Rogers decided to try something different and moved the 40-lapper to the second Saturday night show of the season.

With the increase in the winner’s share plus the increase in prize money for those finishing sixth on back, there just may be some new names showing up to challenge the likes of eight time champion Jeff Strunk, Craig VonDohren, Ryan Godown, Mike Gular, Terry Meitzler, and other top performers. Several newcomers showed up for the recent practice session and announced that they would be regulars at Grandview this season. That makes for even tougher competition.

The racing action on Saturday, April 10th will get the green flag at 7 p.m. and will include both the NASCAR Modifieds and Late Models in a full series of qualifying races leading up to a 40-lap feature for the Modifieds and a 20-lapper for the Late Models. Adult admission will be $20, children (6 through 11) pay just $5 and under 6 are admitted FREE. And there is always FREE parking on the speedway grounds.

Modified racers will also be racing to earn end of the season cash from the track point fund, the NASCAR point fund, and the American Racer point program that also offers racers the opportunity to win tires. On top of all that the NASCAR Modified racers have the opportunity to win additional cash as the NASCAR state champion.

The Late Model racers, who were given a purse increase last season, can look forward to earning some extra money as track employee Mark Garman is putting together the “Topless Truckin’ 20” for April 17th and the Late Model Memorial on June 19th. Both events will offer additional prize money and special awards.

The Firecracker 40 on July 3rd will give the Late Model racers another chance to earn some extra cash while youngsters attending that event will have the chance to win bicycles courtesy of late model racer Kory Fleming and his sponsors.

And on Saturday, July 17th the Late Models will have the opportunity to race for some extra money as the race sponsor, WNPV-1440 AM Radio, is posting lap money for each of the 20 laps in the feature race.

Reasonably priced opportunities to market through motorsports at Grandview Speedway are available by contacting Ernie Saxton Communications, Inc. at 215.752.7797. A color brochure outlining all the opportunities is available upon request.

Grandview Speedway is located at 43 Passmore Road in Bechtelsville, PA, just a short distance off Route 100, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For information telephone 610.754.7688 or check in at http://www.grandviewspeedway.com/.
