Grandview Mod Racers To Benefit From American Racer Cup Point Program

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GRANDVIEW MODIFIED RACERS TO REAP REWARDS FROM AMERICAN RACER CUP PROGRAM

BECHTELSVILLE, PA March 14, 2010 . . . A number of East Coast speedways offering Modified stock car racing will see their racers benefit from the announcement of the new American Racer East Coast Modified Cup.

Grandview Speedway management has announced that they will be part of the American Racer and Lias Tire’s program that will reward the top performers with free tires and cash.

“We think this will create a great deal of interest amongst our Modified racers,” said track owner Bruce Rogers. “Racers love the opportunity to win money and the free tires will be a big incentive to race harder during the season.”

The American Racer Cup money and product awards will go nicely with the point fund money already offered Grandview racers by NASCAR and the Rogers family.

The concept of the American Racer East Coast Modified Cup is to rank Modified drivers within a system that incorporates their weekly racing program. The idea would be to allow drivers and spectators to follow the season-long standings among the best drivers in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

The drivers would be ranked based on three criteria:

1. Their weekly standing in their home track points.

2. The number of teams in competition at each race meets along with the number of drivers that actually started the event.

3. The number of actual feature events the driver competes in at his home track.

Each track would see their top five drivers in final weekly points earn American Racer Tires as follows:

1st - 10 tires 2nd - 6 tires 3rd - 4 tires 4th - 2 tires and 5th - 1 tire

In addition to the year end tire awards, each track will also receive two American Racer tires per month which are to be given away in a random drawing of registered drivers in the American Racer Cup. Two tires are to be chanced off each of the months of April, May, June, July and August.

Along with the individual track awards, there will be a separate point fund to be paid out to the top 5 overall drivers based on the criteria that has been outlined. The payouts will be as follows:

1st - $10,000 2nd - $5,000 3rd - $3,500 4th - $2,500 5th - $2,000

It should be noted that drivers would be able to earn this revenue without ever having to compete away from their home tracks.

There would also be a lucrative bonus for drivers that choose to race in Race of Champions Dirt Tour events. If the American Racer Cup Champion is also able to capture the RoC overall title, he will receive a bonus in the amount of $20,000.… giving the drivers the opportunity, as Grand Champion, to win approximately $40,000 in cash and product.

Drivers wanting to participate in the American Racer Cup will be required to pay a $50 registration fee. A/R Cup decals will be provided for each registered driver and it will be required that the decals be carried in a prominent local on the members racecars.

NASCAR 358 Modified racers at Grandview Speedway already race for lucrative end of the season point fund money with cash awards coming from both the Rogers family and NASCAR. All that is in addition to the handsome purse that is offered for each weekly Saturday night Modified feature race along with special events.

Grandview offers $10,000 to the winner of the Forrest Rogers Memorial and at least $20,000 to the winner of the BPG Racing Freedom 76 race each season.

The season at Grandview Speedway, located on Passmore Road in Bechtelsville, PA, gets started with the free-to-the-public practice session set for Saturday, March 27th starting at 12 noon.
