Geezer Gazette 7-23-16

 ALL LAPS WERE‘’HOT LAPS’’SATURDAY !!



QUICK RESULTS:

            The #22 finished 2nd in the qualifier and 9th in the 25 lap Grandview Speedway BRC Late Model feature event as we currently hang 9th in the tight Championship season points battle!
 With crew help from Al ‘’Yunko’’ and Ken ‘’BiG Red’’ Loux, Geezer felt confident that some of the hiccups early in the day would be overcome, and they were. Delicious homemade Goodies unexpectedly provided compliments of Checkered FlaG Bakery, thanks Missie !! ConGrats to Brian Shuey and the #177 team on their win with Chuck Schutz riGht on his tail across the line. ConGrats also to Frank Cozze and team on their win in the TP Trailer Modifeds, and Mike Lisoski on his win in the Sportsman. A huGe THANKS to Dave ‘’Crazy’’ Yost for the use of his hauler for the niGht, it’s Good to know you have friends willing to step up and lend their wheels if needed. This makes 4 weeks of playinG revolvinG trucks for team 22 but car owner Steve likely found us a potential hauler for the remainder of the season.

GEEZER GAB:

·        Chuck Schutz, Craig Vondohren and Mike Lisoski lead the points in their respective divisions.
·        Thanks Cheryl White for some cool photos from Saturday night!!
·        Great to see Missie, Alyssa, Wendy, Tracy, Kylie, Shani, Taylor, Tammy, Jenn, Amy and others for free huGs !! Sorry if I forgot anyone, that is almost my limit… And people ask me why I race? LOL
·        Great times after the races with Matt, Alex, Steve, Al, Ken, ‘’Deuce’’, Joe, Crazy, Whippy, Crop Duster, Scotty and others as always… even had ‘cold’ beveraGes for a change.
·        Thank you Jeff Ahlum for announcing all of our marketing partners numerous times and a few special shout outs to the car owners kids matt and Alex.
·        Dan ‘’Knee-Mo’’ Lane had a Great weekend in the micro sprints at Lanco Speedway with a 2nd place finish in the Sportsman class and a 4th in the Buch powered, Adams Auto Sales 270 micro sprint #25X. His Dad and crew chief ‘’BDL’’ begins anger management classes tonight and for the next few weeks will be equipped with handcuffs, tranquilizers and a muzzle until the ride home so they don’t Get kicked out of the pits…LOL but seriously, a Great team, having an outstanding season. Keep it up Guys.
·        A quick but sincere THANKS to ‘’Hilty’’ the track welder for his kind gesture of a water while being scaled after my heat race, much needed buddy, thanks. Grandview Speedway staff also deserves thanks for offering anyone in need some relief from the unusually hot temps Saturday before, during and after the races Saturday eveningin numerous ways. We racers and teams compete like enemies on the track, but have each other’s back when the conditions are tough for all involved.

This Saturday July 30th, three reGular divisions PLUS the VintaGe cars at Grandview Speedway !! It is also WNPV-1440 AM Radio NiGht, with live broadcasts to thousands if not millions of loyal race fans. The BRC Late Models, TP Trailer Modifeds, Sportsman and VintaGe car divisions can be enjoyed for an unheard of $15 adult admission, with children 11 and under free if they mention ‘’Geezer’’ at the Gate, all beginning at 7:30sharp.
