Dan Green’s Linda’s Hair Techniques #46 Finishes 11th In Firecracker 40!

Coatesville, PA – July 16,
2016 – The Chapman Auto Firecracker 40 for the Grandview Speedway NASCAR
BRC Late Models was delayed by rain by a week so Dan Green and the G & H
Motorsports team was able to make a minor change that we were going to do for
last week. The team headed to the track a little early for the Low Down and
Dirty Meet and Greet at Grandview before the racing got started. The team gave
away 4 RC NASCAR 1/24 scale cars to very happy winners and Dan signed a lot of
hero cards for the fans that stopped by.
Heat Race
The racing order for the night was switched
around a little so the Late Models could run their race after intermission. Dan
started in 4th in the second 8 Lap Heat Race, the first green was a
no go as the #81 Chris Wojnar spun at the start/finish line. This put Dan 3rd
as Wojnar started on the pole. The next green Dan jumped to second passing Drew
Weisser #19. The race went green the rest of the way as Dan followed Ron Kline
#3 under the checker finishing second.
Team gets ready
As the team had a little more time this week to get ready for the 40 lap
feature, we were able to take our time and get everything done that we needed
to do. Scott and Cathy Green, Jim Alexander, Phil Jelke, Michael Wynne, Debbie
Dutter, Jennifer O’Shea and Brett Higginbotham were in the pits for the night.
The team also welcomed our sponsor Linda and Dave Deeney from Linda’s Hair
Techniques as well as Dan’s cousins Kelly Green Depew and her children visiting
from Idaho and Lew Williams visiting from Florida. They all really enjoyed
cheering on Dan during the racing action and the special events of the Firecracker
40 night.
Feature Event
For the special event the track had driver introductions
for the 21 drivers that started the race! Dan buckled in the Hot Rod Processing
#46 in 7th starting spot. The cars had a few pace laps to wave American
flags and hand them to the officials to give to the kids in attendance. The
green was displayed and the #46 Scott Select NASCAR BRC Dirt Late Model just
never really got going as Dan tried different lines and was stuck in some spots
that allowed a couple cars to get by. On the ninth lap Dan got high going
around a lapped car and tagged the wall with the right rear of the car. On lap
10 Dan slowed and the caution came out as Dan drove to the pits with what he
thought was a flat tire. The vibration was caused by mud that had gone into the
wheel area and once removed he rejoined the field in 19th spot. The
next 30 laps Dan tried to move forward and was able to get by a few cars and
finish 11th with a car that was just not perfect. Not the finish
that the team would have liked but we completed all 40 laps with an ill
handling car after the contact with the wall on lap 9.
Congratulations
Wayne Pfeil #72 picked up the Chapman Auto
Firecracker 40 for his first win of the year and first 40 lapper win. Kyle
Wiess #21 picked up his first of the year in the T.P. Trailers Modifieds and
Brian Papiez #99x got his second Sportsman Feature win of 2016.
Next Event
Dan will race July 23, 2016 in the Hatfield Quality Meats night at
Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville PA. Adult admission is $15 while youngsters
11 and under are free.
Mark your calendar now for Saturday, August 20, 2016. There will be a
car show at Scott Select Pre-Owned Cars in West Chester PA featuring Dan and
the #46 NASCAR BRC Late Model! Plans are being made now to have several other
Grandview Speedway cars including Mike Gular #2 who is 3rd in the
T.P. Trailers Modifieds, Nate Mohr #17m Sportsman, #22 Joe “Geezer” Fanelli and
the Late Model Point Leader #1 Chuck Schutz, others will be added shortly.
There will be plenty to do and enjoy as more information will be available
soon.
Team News
Dan Green T-shirts and Hoodies are still available so pick yours up as
soon as you can! The team has them at the track or if you can’t make it to the
track email us and we can work something out. Shirts are $15, Hoodies are $25
and Hats are $10. Very reasonable for any race fan! If you are unable to make
